Poor communication and slow process

I began my homebuyer journey in June 2024, I didn’t complete until the end of November. There was no chain and all my documents had been uploaded as soon as the process began. I had to apply for two mortgage extensions and PM were unable to give me an estimated date until the week before we completed. I had to pay an extortionate amount in storage as they initially suggested I could be in by the end of August but this did not happen. They did not check their emails until I called nor did they call me back when I asked for one. The whole process was unbelievably frustrating with constantly being told ‘we’re just waiting on this’ or ‘we need you to send us this’ despite having sent over all the documents to their app.

Poor service

I was a cash buyer with no chain and waived searches to get the house quickly to do it up.
The opposite happened. It took five and a half months to get the keys from the day I started using PMPL.
Never got the solicitor dealing with my purchase, and also they kept changing the person on my case. My first one went on long term sick I subsequently found out which caused a big delay in itself.
Callbacks were often missed that I requested on their app. When actually calling the company to try and get progress updates I again never got the person on my case and that’s when I actually connected with someone. Call waiting times were ridiculously long, sometimes an hour.
Only after submitting a complaint did things start to change. Shouldn’t be like this.
DON’T use this firm if you want a quick purchase.

NO STARS WOULD BE THE CORRECT REVIEW !!!!!

I really wish I had read reviews before I agreed to use these unprofessional people, it would have been much better to use a local solicitor to see face to face & not post all the paperwork.
3 months in I was told due to illness & annual leave my file had been put on hold, I was lucky not to lose the buyers.
Really disappointed with the communication- took ages to answer phones then either cut off or put on hold & emails took days to answer.
Team Ramsden kept getting details wrong even asking for death certificates 3 times when nobody had died, sorting out ID last minute when they had the details, couldn’t find funds for days, then they turned up in an account they firmly said couldn’t be used. Only just got back paperwork from months which I was promised was sent special delivery - gone to the wrong address !! Please AVOID, most embarrassing experience ever.

I genuinley can not praise Sophie oshea and her assistant Olivia Thawley.
Dealt with both our selling and buying of property.
Efficient with all due dilligence required to get case up and running. Never left us waiting for updates and always on the end of the phone should any questions we had need.
They are a credit to the Company

Trying to complete the purchase of a flat, impossible to get in contact with the person managing my case. They haven't answered a single email I have sent them and have been unable to provide updates. Impossible to get on a call with them. The only time I was able to get in contact with them I had to call at 9am on the dot, otherwise I spend hours on hold only for the call to drop hours in.
Don't use them, I am currently looking into getting new solicitors to manage my case.

TAKE THIS ADVICE FROM AN ESTATE AGENT!!! DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS HORRENDOUS FIRM (all opinions are my own not of my employer).

I have never in my 7 years of being an estate agent dealt with such a HORRIFIC firm. My buyer and I have been trying to get hold of his solicitor/anyone at PM for over 4 weeks now. We have called every day and been stuck on hold for hours , to then be hung up on. It is not acceptable and now my buyer has lost his purchase of his first home. This is disgusting and I dread to think how this firm is still standing.

PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON INSTRUCTING THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE OF LAWYERS.

I would do everything you can to avoid using pm property lawyers. I thought I would use a local solicitors that had been recommended to me and went for pm solicitors in Maidenhead. I was then transferred to a team up in Sheffield. There has been absolutely zero to no communication throughout the whole process and everything takes an unbelievable amount of time. My buyer has now pulled out of the sale because of the length of time taken. It is a sale with no chain so I’m not waiting for others. Throughout the four months it’s taken to do around 50% of the conveyancing I have spoken to my property lawyer once. They have a complete lack of ability to follow any basic instructions you give to them and at no point give you any contact to explain what’s happening. Either they are useless at their jobs or they are severely understaffed. Please if you read this review avoid using them as much as you can, I don’t know how such an incompetent business can still be running.

Awful, awful, awful. Please do yourself a favour if you are planning on using these solicitors and just don't. They made our process way more difficult and stressful than it needed to be, due to absolute incompetence from everyone involved.

And just as we thought the incompetence was over it's seems our stamp duty hasn't been paid and we are being chased by HMRC for something thay should have been done by these "solicitors".

1 star is being generous.
