About Client Reviews
You can submit written reviews for law firms listed on ReviewSolicitors. If you find that a law firm you wish to review is not found on our site, please email info@reviewsolicitors.com and we will add it in for you. We encourage you to share your opinions, both favorable and unfavorable.
We are working hard to provide a fair platform for reviews in the legal market. We aim to make our client reviews as useful as possible, so we’ve added features like “Verified client” buttons, helpful votes, and the ability for a solicitor to respond to any review. All of this in the pursuit of a system that’s open and flexible and yet structured and helpful for anyone who wants to learn more from other clients about their experience with a law firm.
Over time we've also built mechanisms, both manual and automated, that remove reviews which violate our guidelines. We recently improved our detection of promotional reviews which resulted in the removal of reviews, both new and old. While our enforcement has improved, our Review Creation Guidelines have not changed. We hope to keep improving our approach over time and we welcome feedback from customers and reviewers alike on how to keep making reviews more valuable to users of the ReviewSolicitors website.
Client reviews are meant to give users genuine feedback from past clients. Our goal is to capture all the energy and enthusiasm (both favorable and critical) that clients have about a law firm they have recently used while avoiding use of reviews to outright advertise, promote and especially mislead. We have a zero tolerance policy for any review designed to mislead or manipulate users of the site or to deliberately intimidate a law firm. Employees of a law firm are not allowed to write a review about a law firm, even if they are a genuine client. Client Reviews help others learn more about the services you offer and their particular experience when instructed. They can hear the reasons behind a firm's star rating, and ultimately decide if the mentioned law firm is right firm for them.
Those who use legal services on a regular basis can add a unique perspective and we very much welcome their reviews. While we encourage reviewers to share their enthusiasm and experience, there can be a fine line between that and the use of reviews as promotion. We don't allow anyone to write reviews as a form of promotion and if we find evidence that a client was paid for a review, we'll remove it. We kindly ask that reviewers only review a particular firm once, even if they have used them on multiple occasions. Instead, feel free to mention that you are a long standing client as this helps reinforce your review.
Below each review, you’ll find a question that asks "Was this review helpful to you?" – if you answer "Yes," this will help others when trying to find reviews that are helpful to their cause. If you do not think the review was helpful and you feel it breaches our guidelines then you can let us know by clicking the “report to admin” button just below. We'll examine the review and take action if necessary.
To help illustrate, here are a few examples of reviews that we don't allow:
- A Solicitor posts a review of their own service, posing as an client
- A client, unhappy with their solicitor, posts multiple negative reviews
- A client posts a review in exchange for £5
- A client posts a review of a Will they have recently had done, in exchange for a free Will for their spouse
- A family member of the solicitor posts a five-star review to help boost sales
- A client posts a review of the solicitor, in exchange for a discount on their fees
- A solicitor posts negative reviews on their competitor
- A solicitor posts a positive review on a peer's page in exchange for receiving a positive review from them
If you think we got it wrong and removed a review that we shouldn’t have, please e-mail support@reviewsolicitors.com and we will take another look.
