I did express my dissatisfaction and unhappiness with the service during the conveyancing period. The communication was not good because I was sending emails with no reply. Secondly, replies was not prompt from the service. All of the above made the conveyancing process very stressful.

Would not recommend
Apart from Maryam who desperately tried to provide a decent service, my experience was other wise awful and delayed the anticipated completion by at least a month as a result. Didn’t answer the telephone, emails or messages on their App.

Shocking Service!
I had to continually chase this solicitor. It took 18 weeks for a cash buyer and empty purchase. I was told a moving date to be let down on the day last minute. I was due to go away and lost my holiday due to the moving date being incorrect. They were atrocious to try to communicate with.
I will be going forth with a compliant, they were extremely unprofessional and they spent the entirety trying to pass the blame.

The worst experience of my life.
Awful. I was passed to this conveyancing firm through an agency called Home Legal Direct, and instructing this firm was the biggest regret of my life. We were first time buyers purchasing a house from sellers who were moving into a retirement home, with only us and them in the chain.
We were allocated to Alex Ramsden who refused to speak to us on the phone, we didn’t have a single phone call with her throughout the whole process so our only communication was via email. As first time buyers, this was particularly difficult because we couldn’t seek any advice from Alex. On numerous occasions, we didn’t receive any response or case progression for up to 3 weeks and we had to constantly chase for updates which caused huge delays. Due to the lack of response and acknowledgement via email from Alex, I had to phone for any updates from Alex’s assistant Maryam, however on Wednesdays nobody would answer the phone and most other times I was on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes, and multiple times I was waiting for more than 45 minutes.
The seller’s were on oxygen support and needed to complete on a specific date (19 weeks following instruction vs the average timeline 10-12 weeks for freehold) to allow movement of their medical equipment and to get the urgent healthcare needed, Team Ramsden already had all our signed documentation at this point including our signed contract so I made Team Ramsden aware of this situation and deadline with 4 weeks of notice. Unfortunately for those 4 weeks we were constantly told that our case was ‘going through final sign off’ which caused us to miss the exchange deadline despite the rest of the chain being ready to exchange. This caused huge levels of stress for all involved in the chain. The day before requested completion we still hadn’t exchanged due to delays from PM Lawyers, the afternoon before completion day Alex Ramsden said she would ‘try to get us exchanged’ with knowledge of the urgency of this case, however she made no attempt to contact the seller’s solicitor to exchange us and then left the office with no further communication which left us and the sellers unaware if we were able to move forward with exchange and completion the next day. I had to escalate this case to Joanne Darwin to enable us to exchange and complete on the same day to meet the deadline set out. The case took 19 weeks from instruction for a simple first time buy purchase with only 1 other party in the chain. Progression was only made when I chased this team for updates, they never proactively gave updates or moved this case forward.
In addition, the reports and work we received were constantly scattered with errors including 6x errors in our completion report figures - one of which was the property purchase price which is highly alarming and another was the conveyancing fee where they tried to charge us hundreds of pounds more than agreed. Leading up to exchange, this team also told our estate agent that the delay was due to the fact they didn’t have details for the sale of our property, however we were first time buyers with no property to sell. They also said they hadn’t received our source of funds evidence despite us sending them months prior. Team Ramsden would consistently share incorrect facts and make excuses for their delays. On multiple occasions we had sent files requested but then months later we were asked for them again because Team Ramsden either hadn’t acknowledged them or lost them. This team has a complete lack of attention to detail.
I’m so relieved that I never have to deal with this firm again, I highly urge anybody considering instructing this firm to stay away. Research the Google reviews for this company and you will see consistent cases like this one.

It took long for you guys to finalise my case but at the end everything was done. I’m happy because is done but he took very long. I was really stressed was even upset. I was scare at some point that it wouldn’t be done. But thanks for everything. I will recommande friends and family if they need oh if I want the next one

Not happy with the efficiency and communication
I would have to make regular phone contact to the team handling my case otherwise I wouldn't hear anything. The process took six months but i believe if there was better efficiency and communication with me and the sellers solicitor, the process could have been completed in four months. If I didn't apply pressure it probably would have taken another month on top. I noticed I would have to send documents I had already provided i.e. bank statements, signed contracts. The system the company uses to manage tasks and file documents clearly wasn't great.
Was not happy with the speed they worked at. I personally wouldn't recommend or work with PMPL again. However the price is ok!

Property Lawyers for house purchase
