Sarah has to be one of the most professional people that I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Obviously a divorce can have high emotions throughout. She is not interested in dragging the process out causing more work. She is concise , accurate & gave a wealth of advice & guided me through a tricky process. Always polite , friendly yet highly professional & calm demeanour at all times. Available to speak directly to in the telephone. Very knowledgeable & planned ahead & kept me informed of where we were at.

Conveyancing success

I have used Ison Harrison for conveyancing twice (both buying and selling). I dealt with Nigel Cowley (covering Otley and Ilkley) who was responsive and explained things in common sense language. I see other poor reviews below, complaining about time to respond, etc - In my first experience of selling with Ison Harrison, we were able to complete in under 8 weeks, which I think is pretty good. In my experience, there are so many parts in the process (exacerbated by COVID-19) - whilst I recognise we all want someone to blame when things slow down, I don’t think it’s always the entity most visible to us as clients. I would contact Nigel again, should the need arise, but can’t comment on others.

Conveyancing mistakes which cost me money and now they're ignoring my emails

I bought a flat and employed them as they'd been recommended to me. My solicitor was very kind and understanding and apparently competent. Everything seemed to be going well. But no mention of a reserve for service charge payments ever came up and, not being a legal expert myself I didn't know to ask. When I was billed for service charge dating before I owned the property I contacted Ison Harrison by phone and by email and my solicitor had gone on maternity leave. Her colleagues initially said they'd look into it and even said there was in fact a reserve so I should be able to get my money back. But now they are ignoring my emails and I'm stuck having paid £266 for a service charge bill that should have been paid by the vendor. Not good enough.

Amazing people quick and efficient

These people are utterly amazing, with the battle of getting a mortgage they were patient supportive and quick when finally the time came to exchange!! We could not be more happier of the service you have given us. Shahaunna and Kirsty and the team have heard me laugh cry beg and heard to much information, but took it in there stride and have built an amazing rapour with us. I would wholeheartedly recommend these 1000000% would never go anywhere else. Thank you all xx

Many thanks to the team at Ison Harrison, especially Phoebe Ralston, for their hard work and assistance with the purchase of our new home. Phoebe was very quick to respond to all our email enquiries and we always felt up to date with the purchasing process. I would certainly recommend them in the future. Many thanks, once again!

Awful Service

Despite what their website states Ison Harrison does the complete opposite of accelerating the buying procedure. This is due to cutting corners and using a conveyancing executive, who have little idea of conveyancing law and the superior seemed unwilling to assist.

The advice offered by the conveyancing executive was incorrect and obstructive and no delayed communication. At no time did Ison Harrison make the home buying process easy, it was extremely stressful and at no time did they make it clear why they were holding up the process.

There are no high standards and they also have the ability to lose contracts!

Use this company at your own peril or if you want it to take longer than 5 months to exchange contracts.

Excellent service

When buying our new build house we used Ison Harrison. They were very informative and our exchange of contracts went through quickly and with no problems. I was dealt with by Abbigail, Alyx, and Kathryn who were all brilliant. They were very friendly and explained things to me well. This was out first time buying a house and they made it really easy.

Moving House with Ison Harrison

I had a fantastic time with Ison Harrison, and have used them not only to handle the conveyancing during the purchase of my first home but also to create my Will and will use them for anything else I might need in the future too.

Nigel Cowley dealt with my conveyancing from their Leeds and Guiseley office and was really comprehensive, understanding in explaining to us the ins and outs of the situation and articles/issues that I hadn't ever dealt with before. He was easy to talk to and everything was generally very organised, making the purchase and moving in period to our first home very effortless on reflection.

We also found them really reasonable price wise, considering all of the fees that mount up during the conveyancing process their own charges for the work they did were a really nice surprise, in that they weren't anything like what we had expected them to come to. We were thrilled that everything got done and we were moved in so efficiently.

Thanks for the great work guys!

Just awful

Possibly the least communication skils ever, lied to me several times and mishandled my godfathers estate. Would never use them if they were the last solicitor on earth

About this branch

Description

We’ve all got a story of where we have come from, who we are and what makes us tick. This is ours. Over the past 45 years the firm has grown from a one man band to what is now a large regional law firm employing over 330 staff across 20 offices throughout Yorkshire. We offer the broadest suite of legal services in the region and are very much embedded in the communities in which we have offices. Whilst some of the growth has been facilitated through acquiring other smaller firms, most has been organic as a consequence of clients recommending us or returning for additional services. As you can see the firm has enjoyed substantial growth over the past decade. We have always taken the view that standing still as a business is not an option for us. We have seen many law firms either go out of business or reduce in size over the years and we were determined not to struggle in the same way. We have therefore constantly looked to improve. We have looked for opportunities to grow our profile, the number of our offices, and the breadth of services that we offer. We have looked for ways to improve our internal processes, employee engagement and how we deal and communicate with clients. All partners and managers recognise the importance of communication and set the tone within the firm employing honest, open and prompt communication with clients and colleagues alike.
