Will service

Sadly communication was inappropriate & not business like when face to face. I decided to appoint Rebecca as I’d previously used Sarah Laughey for my divorce & Kathryn Gladwell in conveyancing. Both experiences good, especially Sarah , she really is exemplary in all areas. Couldn’t rate her high enough. I found the firm fair , great to deal with & sensitive, highly professional. My experience with Rebecca was a big disappointment due to the other two experiences being so good. It would be unfair to judge the firm by my poor experience of Rebecca Austin.
“ How would I find the firm” is based on my recent experience , which was with Rebecca Austin not my view of the firm generally.

House sale and purchase

We used Ison Harrison i November for our house sale and our forward purchase and I'm really grateful to them for their professionalism and speed throughout. David and Matt were on hand to answer all our questions during the process and sent on information as received quickly. This was the second time using Ison Harrison and would not hesitate to use them for our next move.

MOD Hearing Loss Claim

Diane Askwith (who doesnt seem to be in your list of lawyers below) was outstanding from the very start.

Advising on likely timelines, process, possible outcomes, next steps etc.

I felt she listened to the issues intently, showed empathy, was exceptionally proffessional throughout, kept me upto date frequently, even if the update was there is no update.

I felt Diane fought my corner extremely well and helped me reach an outcome which exceeded my expectations and was accurate in terms of reaching the conclusion in the timeline Diane initially informed of.

I found Diane to be exceptional and would recommend to anybody wanting to go through a similar claim.

Ben is one of the best professional people I’ve dealt with.

My experience with Ben is everything time I feel overwhelmed with the process. He always great in putting my mind to ease. He’s always attentive precisely delivered what he says, super responsive. I’ll never forget the he handled my pressure when I was desperate to get my visa ASAP to travel and see my mother during her illness.

selling my house and buying a flat

My wife and I chose Ison Harrison in Pudsey for our conveyancing, as we knew they had a good "steady" reputation in legal circles. (Prior to retirement, wife and I had both been professionals working in the court system). The Pudsey office itself is totally unsatisfactory, having been a tiny jewellers shop in a previous life, and now the display windows astride the entrance door serve as the only interviewing space. Quite bizarre! However, the staff there were courteous, professional and knowledgeable to a fault. Nothing was too much trouble, and though both parts of the buying and selling process were drawn out, the delays were all down to the other parties.

Worse than I could ever have imagined.

I had to teach them United Kingdom law on two occasions simply to remove their dark allusions. I received no apology, not even an acknowledgement.

And they ignore both physical and digital communications.

And among their few replies are, ahem, words that are strangers to the truth.

And they cannot even arrange a simple, entirely legal, bank transfer without chaos and confusion.

Following an unfortunate accident last year, we contacted the team at Ison Harrison for advice regarding a personal injury claim. Graham Roberts was very helpful and supportive and advised how best to proceed. Throughout the whole claim process Graham & Frances have been very thorough with their communication and made the process very easy in order to make sure we were up to date and knew next steps. We would highly recommend Graham and thank you again for your help with our claim.

at the Guiseley branch, especially Rebecca Austin. This woman thinks £££££
Took on my very frail 92 year old Mothers will 2 weeks before she died. Without checking her capacity to understand everything this woman has said to her. Mum was at the beginning of Dementia, the denial stage and was starting to get tested but kept cancelling the visits. Mum thought her next door neighbour was a solicitor too but wasn’t, they just manipulated her into going with Ison Harrison’s at Guiseley. At the time of Rebecca going round to mums to take on another will Mum had a broken wrist from a fall, her hand and arm was completely black but never asked what Mum had done. Although the fall was a week before Rebecca came to Mums house, and still made her sign the will with a heavily bruised hand.
At the time of Mums death I rang Rebecca to inform her of the sad news. At no point did this woman pass on her condolences!!!
Rebecca has breached GDPR twice ! Accusations and assumptions towards us without checking facts first.
I sent a complaint in as per their protocol, and after eight weeks not had an acknowledgment or reply. Please look up the protocol for Ison Harrison solicitors.
I asked a question with regards to certification of my self and daughter never got an answer to my question, but came back avoiding the direct question.
Myself and my daughter work at a vets and wanted to know if the senior vets could certify. I already knew the answer but they just wouldn’t respond. Rebecca just seems applied to making our lives even more difficult.
Got a reply 21st May saying they had answered me on the 9th April and to look in my spam 😆 I’ve been emailing them for ages why would it go to spam ? Guess what ? Nothing in spam.
They addressed only 1 GDPR breach by saying they never posted to the wrong person !! But not addressed the 2nd GDPR breach and have evidence it was sent and discussed !!
This woman agreed to have my family home cleared without inviting me to come along for any personal items left. Personal items like family photos, gone.
She is spending the estate money by agreeing to trees being felled, as next door neighbour has requested it. Mum denied the request for years as it’s a sentiment tree. The neighbour has requested this before new neighbours move in and then they deny it too at their cost.
Absolute shocking service. The taking advantage of a 92 year old woman is my biggest bug bear.
Please avoid this company.
I will keep updating this review to keep it at the top to keep people informed.

About this branch

Description

We’ve all got a story of where we have come from, who we are and what makes us tick. This is ours. Over the past 45 years the firm has grown from a one man band to what is now a large regional law firm employing over 330 staff across 20 offices throughout Yorkshire. We offer the broadest suite of legal services in the region and are very much embedded in the communities in which we have offices. Whilst some of the growth has been facilitated through acquiring other smaller firms, most has been organic as a consequence of clients recommending us or returning for additional services. As you can see the firm has enjoyed substantial growth over the past decade. We have always taken the view that standing still as a business is not an option for us. We have seen many law firms either go out of business or reduce in size over the years and we were determined not to struggle in the same way. We have therefore constantly looked to improve. We have looked for opportunities to grow our profile, the number of our offices, and the breadth of services that we offer. We have looked for ways to improve our internal processes, employee engagement and how we deal and communicate with clients. All partners and managers recognise the importance of communication and set the tone within the firm employing honest, open and prompt communication with clients and colleagues alike.
