Extremely Disappointing Experience with Basirat Oladeji at Taylor Rose

I regret to share my incredibly frustrating experience with Basirat Oladeji, a conveyancing solicitor at Taylor Rose, which has led me to write this review. The service I received during my property transactions for a property in Gravesend and in Swanley was below the professional standard expected.

From the outset, Basirat failed to provide essential documents such as the SDLT return for the Gravesend property, which was never initially sent. Compounding this, an erroneous SDLT5 form for the property in Swanley was provided with incorrect purchaser details and included an individual as purchaser who was not. My attempts to correct these errors through multiple emails were met with silence, reflecting a lack of responsiveness and disregard for client needs.

Moreover, Basirat’s approach to client communication was unprofessional—often, I could hear children in the background during our calls, which, while understandable in personal settings, does not align with the expected professional standards in legal consultations. This was distracting and detracted from the seriousness of our discussions.

When I pointed out discrepancies and requested essential documents for rectification, Basirat informed me of a £99 plus VAT fee to retrieve files that should have been readily accessible. This response was not only inappropriate but also suggested a potential exploitation of client circumstances, as no upfront information about such fees was provided when initially handling the documents.

Additionally, Basirat’s handling of my last transaction involving the Gravesend property was plagued by errors, including incorrect details on invoices and reports. Her reluctance to revise these documents, despite clear inaccuracies, and the slow resolution process reflect poorly on her professionalism and the firm’s client service standards.

The overall experience has been so disappointing that I have decided not to use Taylor Rose for any further conveyancing services. This is in stark contrast to other legal firms I have engaged with subsequently, where all documentation is verified prior to submission, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.

If you are considering using Taylor Rose for conveyancing or any legal services, I urge you to reconsider. There are other firms that offer higher standards of service and professionalism, where such issues are unlikely to occur.

Proceed with extreme caution if considering Taylor Rose for your legal needs.

Lack of Updates on Property Purchase Process

I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the lack of communication and progress updates on my property purchase. As a first-time buyer, this is an incredibly important milestone for me, and the prolonged silence over the past two months has made the process unnecessarily stressful and challenging.

Despite my patience and repeated attempts to seek clarity, I have not received any substantial feedback or updates about the status of the transaction. This absence of communication has left me in a state of uncertainty, which is both disappointing and unacceptable, given the critical nature of this matter.

Fantastic advice, service and experience

I have engaged Kara Bennesch through Taylor Rose for several House purchases. Not only has Kara been incredibly attentive and responsive throughout, her expertise and advice has helped me to make the best informed choices. I'm very grateful to have had the serviced of such great solicitor and will be recommending her to friends and family as well as engaging her again personally for potential future transactions. Overall, a super experience through a process that is, by it's nature, quite stressful. Thank you Kara

Basirat was excellent from the get-go. We initially had trouble with a different firm, who initially advised they could handle our case, which involved Bridging and development finance, but then later down the line advised they were unable to proceed due to the complexity.

Basirat took ownership of the case and ensured a speedy transaction, completing in record time. As a mortgage broker, I understand the importance of communication and speed, and Basirat did not disappoint, ensuring that we were informed of the requirements throughout the process.

She was easy to get hold of and answered all questions promptly.

I will definitely be using Basirat for my future conveyancing needs.

Keep up the great work Basirat.

We worked with Sabian Syl-Tucker on the sale of our share of freehold flat and purchase of our new home. Sabian was fantastic throughout and I would very confidently recommend to others. We completed within 4 months (despite a delay of 4-5 weeks from elsewhere in the chain). Thanks for everything, Sabian!

After making the decision to sell our property in the UK, as we have resided overseas for the last 15years we were very much reliant on our estate agents advice regarding the appointment of solicitors to handle the process for us

We instructed Taylor Rose and as they have a web portal, this made the early communication incredibly easy as we were able to receive and respond to queries, complete and return relevant forms as well as upload pertinent information in our possession, despite being in a totally different time-zone!

As the surveys progressed and preparation of contracts commenced, the communication switched to email and our appointed solicitor, Ms Basirat Oladeji, was fantastic! She was incredibly responsive to any queries we had along the way which gave us great assurance during the whole process

Based on our experience, we would have no hesitation with recommending Taylor Rose and Basirat to any of our family members or friends!
