Expensive, low priority. Would look harder for a solicitor next time

Taylor Rose helped my wife and I with buying and selling our house. They came recommended by our estate agents and we went with it rather than do the search for a solicitor ourselves.

They got the job done and by and large often did the work when asked within a good time frame. They were genuinely better than the solicitors of the vendors selling their house to us who were horrifically slow throughout the process.

However, throughout the whole process we had felt like we were a low priority, lost in the middle of their to do pile. This was emphasized by a few factors.
1. A few weeks into engaging them as our solicitor, we called them and the manager assigned to us on their portal had absolutely no idea who we were, sounded surprised that we called and was asking for her.
2. Nothing got done unless we called. We would go for weeks not hearing anything from them. Eventually, we would call and miraculously we would get some e-mails and progress was made. I personally really despise having to call your office to have to get anything happening.
3. The manager responsible rarely ever took our calls. Maybe once or twice we got put through.
4. The timescale between exchange and Completion resulted in an extra charge for 'priority' privileges. Who knew, the whole time we genuinely were only quoted for the slow lane. You have to pay a premium for priority. A priority for this firm as quoted on their invoice is acting within 10 days. 10 DAYS! Providing the service you have engaged them to do within 2 working weeks for this firm is a problem to charge more for. If only this was mentioned at the beginning.

If we were to start the process again, would we go with Taylor Rose. Absolutely not. We would search harder. There is no doubt in our mind that there are enough solicitors out there to find one that would provide a better service at a lower price.

Very happy clients!

We have recently used Taylor Rose for both the sale of our old property and the purchase of our new one. We have been really impressed with the service provided. Michelle and the team have been fantastic throughout the process. They have been quick to reply to all enquiries and emails, they have taken time to answer any questions we had promptly, and they were very clear in all elements of communication.

The process of buying and selling can be very stressful and time consuming but the team at Taylor Rose have made both of our transactions as stress free as possible. We have been really impressed.

I would not hesitate to recommend TR! Thank you all for you hard work and effort in assisting us here!

Lack of Updates on Property Purchase Process

I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the lack of communication and progress updates on my property purchase. As a first-time buyer, this is an incredibly important milestone for me, and the prolonged silence over the past two months has made the process unnecessarily stressful and challenging.

Despite my patience and repeated attempts to seek clarity, I have not received any substantial feedback or updates about the status of the transaction. This absence of communication has left me in a state of uncertainty, which is both disappointing and unacceptable, given the critical nature of this matter.

Fantastic advice, service and experience

I have engaged Kara Bennesch through Taylor Rose for several House purchases. Not only has Kara been incredibly attentive and responsive throughout, her expertise and advice has helped me to make the best informed choices. I'm very grateful to have had the serviced of such great solicitor and will be recommending her to friends and family as well as engaging her again personally for potential future transactions. Overall, a super experience through a process that is, by it's nature, quite stressful. Thank you Kara

I contacted Taylor Rose needing some support with Probate, Wills and Transfer of Deeds for property after my beloved Nan had passed.
I had no idea what i was doing or where to start, i had contacted another local solicitor who was really stand offish, requested the will before even answering any of my basic questions and immediately asked impersonal questions. I felt overwhelmed, completely lost and stressed. I was about to attampt all of the above myself when i decided to reach out to Taylor Rose last minute... within hours Olivia Baker-Smith had called me back and the rest was history!
Olivia immediately put me at ease, is so friendly, understanding and patient. No matter what questions i asked or how many Olivia was always supportive and answered me in so much detail further putting my mind at ease. Olivia never questioned her payment or fees, i didnt have to chase Olivia or Taylor Rose for information... Olivia very kindly took control and i was able to take the time to grieve and step back from financial matters. Even when new issues arose and i needed further legal help, a quick call to Olivia ( who quoted the additional fees ) ended with her happily taking on my extra legal work. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Even dealing with American Pensions, Last Minute Power of Attorney and Shares.
Olivia and her team ( Emily ) were always very professional yet extremely kind and compassionate, it didnt feel like a legal team... more an extension of my Nans care team and for that i can't thank Olivia enough.
Please do not hesitate to use Taylor Rose and Olivia, you will not be disappointed. I will be using Olivia for my own will in the near future as i wouldnt trust anyone else.

I recently had my will drawn up by Olivia Baker-Smith at Worthing. I had to make several changes as a result of ill health and Olivia was kindness itself. She was very efficient and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. I was very pleased and comforted with the help and efficient and positive advice I was given.

I would definitely recommend this practice and certainly Olivia.

A positive productive experience.
