I do not recommend the Derby office to deal with your probate affairs. My mother passed away October 2023. I am her only child, named in her will, and her estate is relatively simple with just a few accounts to close and tax/interest to pay. Easy right? Apparently not for Right Legal Group. This is still ongoing. The probate advisor that was originally working on my file disappeared, only to have another take over a few months later. Some time lost and no explanation. Documents that were supposed to be sent over to me (I live in the USA) for signing I never received.. The probate was granted in the summer and from then on..... it went quiet. I started to do my own research calling the banks, NI etc., chasing up on documentation that RLG were waiting for! Poor communication, I got the Complaints Department involved. I noticed, not RLG, that there was some money missing in the Estate accounts from my mother's care home. This was wired over in March and was not entered into my mother's ledger! It is a struggle to get a response unless I copy the complaints department on the email. They are still behind on gathering interest certificates and documentation, I have had to call to push things along. I did finally get an interim payment, after a struggle, their finance department is not quick to respond either. They are still holding a big chunk of money until my taxes are done (is this the reason). Bemrose and Ling in Derby originally held my mother's will and it was transferred to Right Legal Group. Too many wills to deal with and young inexperienced advisors? If I don't get a satisfactory answer soon I will have my mother's file transferred back to me. I wish I had known I could have done this myself.
