Do you have a year to complete on a mortgage? Do you not want your mortgage application to be processed in a timely manner? Then these are the solicitors for you!!! Not only can you not get hold of them, they sit on information for weeks at a time. Strong avoid.

We were recommended Talbots by Yopa for our Sale and Purchase.
At the beginning the communication was good and documentation was received and was professional. This quickly disappeared. We went 4 weeks without any contact. Even though we were ringing and sending emails asking for an update. Eventually Ellen contacted us to apologise about the service that had been provided and assured us that this would not happen again. However disappointingly it did happen again 4 weeks went by with no contact from Ellen. It was only when we sent an email complaint to numerous directors at Talbots Law that we actually managed to speak to someone to resolve the issues and answer the questions about our sale and purchase that we had been trying to get answered for over 4 weeks.
We did receive a gesture of goodwill payment
However the whole experience was very stressful with no updates unless we contacted Talbots
We definitely would not recommend them

Was given a list of solicitors who specialise in shared ownership properties and these were on them. I instructed them to act on my behalf on 22nd August and sent them £400 as requested so they could start the local authority searches etc. The did not reply to my emails nor the sellers solicitors emails, I phoned them on 14th October and asked where they were upto and was told searches still not done so at this point I emailed them on 16th and 17th and instructed them so stop acting on my behalf immediately and as per usual no reply. I called them on Monday 21st and told them to stop as the new solicitors could not deal with the mortgage company as Talbots were still sending documents out. I phoned on 24th to clarify they had in fact stopped only to be told they had finally done the searches and that I would receive a partial refund and had the phone put down on me. I have since going Yell reviews about them and their lack of communication

My experience from start to finish with Matt Roberts at talbots law Dudley has been outstanding, every time I needed to speak to him he was available unless he was at court, but he always got back to me. I felt that Matt went above and beyond on my case, to get my child’s wishes and feelings heard. We had a great outcome. The advice was given to me.

Jesse was clear, helpful, polite and thoroughly professional - he made the whole process easy.
I would definitely recommend the experience we both had, and efficient and effective service provided.
