We were recommended to use Bannister Preston as our solicitors for our first house purchase in September 2024, and absolutely would not use them again and would not recommend them unfortunately.
We often had to chase up replies to emails and when we requested call backs these were very rarely returned. We once were promised an urgent call back 4 times in one day that never happened (1 week before our completion date).
There was a few issues with our searches which could have been sorted months in advance, however were left until the week of completion despite us chasing this up multiple times in the weeks prior.
Eventually we spoke to David who did get everything sorted for us in a few days, so we were able to complete on the house on time. However, this was by the absolute skin of our teeth. David was great, made time for us, and kept us in the loop of what he was doing so we knew where things were up to. The same can’t be said for the other staff we spoke with, unfortunately.
Ultimately, despite David being able to help us over the finish line and offering his genuine apologies for the previous errors, we couldn’t recommend Bannister Preston as a solicitors, as the failings greatly outweighed the pros.

We went with Bannister Preston for our house purchase as they were recommended by our house builders (anwyl homes) and we are really glad that we did. Their communication has been amazing throughout, any email I sent was replied to really promptly the same day, sometimes even within minutes and they have been happy to help with anything I’ve asked. We had an issue on completion day (due to a fault of our buyers solicitors) and they were very supportive throughout. We feel they really took the stress out of buying a house. We also think they are competitively priced especially when you consider the service you receive in return.

I've just bought a new-build property. Bannister Preston was recommended to me as there were the solicitors, that the developers have worked with on this particular housing development I've moved into.
As a first-time buyer, I had no clue how the process worked from a conveyancing perspective and having previously studied Law at university. I asked quite a few questions. The solicitors, assistant solicitors and associates, were all polite and responsive and chased for updates when required.
I would recommend Bannister Preston. Thanks for all your help!
