The title says it all. Mr. Jerome Dodge, a master of his subject, clearly revealed enough and no more of the pros and cons of Trusts to allow us to make an informed, clear headed decision. All over a cup of tea in a comfortable meeting room.
He has reversed and greatly improved my view of Solicitors, which has been eroding since our family friend/solicitor retired.

Over 50 years dealing with Blanchards Bailey

It was in 1975 when I first used the services of Blanchards (as it was then) for the conveyancing of a property to purchase having moved my Mother to the Blandford area. The help from Mr John Blanchard and his secretary Mrs Kathie Underwood was superb. In 1990, when my Mother died whilst I was working overseas, Blanchards organised the necessary POA, funeral arrangements and subsequent Probate. Recently, Blanchards Bailey have refreshed my POA’s and Will - and that of my late wife - as well as attending to my wife’s estate and Probate. They have also set up several trusts relating to my estate. I have appointed them Executors.

Face to face consultation

I had not met Laura before but was impressed with her approach outlined on the company website. I had used the company before in other business areas. From the first phone call when I spoke to Laura’s secretary Paula Olive, I was reassured and treated as an individual, also with empathy and understanding.
A friend came with me to the face to face meeting with Laura to take notes to make sure I didn’t forget key information. My friend was also welcomed and was also able to ask relevant questions. I was very impressed with the professionalism of Laura but also how approachable she was and understood I did not want to take a confrontational stance to my situation. I asked all my questions and got all the information I needed within the hour appointment. It was totally worth the hour consultation fee and I will engage her during the next part of the legal process. Paula was also a big part of the positive experience ensuring I had everything I needed. Paula dealt with any equities in a very timely and efficient manner. I felt in safe hands throughout this difficult process and time for me. I would definitely recommend to others in my situation. I felt listened to and confident in Paula and Laura.

Customer Focused and very professional house conveyances Service

Having been supported by Caroline for 2 houses purchases, we were extremely impressed and grateful for her attention to detail, professional knowledge and responsiveness. The service provide, from start to finish, was in stark contrast to that of the sellers solicitor. Always available to answer questions- often at the drop of a hat - her depth of experience shone through as the sale was in jeopardy as the exchange of contracts day approached. Given the inevitable stress and emotional pressure associated with a house purchase, this level of support was very welcome and appreciated!

I was recently purchasing a new home and was so pleased to be able to find Sarah Trickey at Blanchards Bailey. Sarah had previously acted as conveyancer for me but had moved from the previous company. Her no nonsense attitude, sense of humour and professional manner made my house move so much easier and the price was right too! Thank you Sarah and Blanchards Bailey for making one of life’s most stressful experiences (almost) a doddle 😊

A very disappointing service from the Probate department - not sure if it was a case of too many clients or a culture within the company - it felt like our file would come to the top every couple of weeks, one task would be done (or just considered) and back to the bottom of the pile it went. Only when a formal complaint was submitted did any concerted action happen. This laidback approach wouldn't work in any other profession. The management needs to look at how Probate applications are processed, with weekly checks and updates for all clients.
