Friends and Family had told me that solicitors always dragged their heels and I would have to constantly push them to get stuff back.

I chose John M Lewis because they were cheaper than the competitors so I was expecting them to be quite slow but I was very wrong!

I literally had no problems with the Jacqueline Byrd Team. Every email was answered extremely promptly and they kept me informed on all progress.

There wasn’t a chain either side of the purchase and we were in the house super quick. No delays from the solicitors at all.

Can’t recommend them enough!

Very poor communication from JMLewis, causing costly delays with the sale and purchase of my properties

I have recently used the firm to complete a house purchase which was complicated by numerous omissions of vital paperwork. Gail acted politely, professionally and tenaciously throughout, ensuring everything was in order before completion.

Timescales were cut short due to the budget as both the seller and I wanted the purchase completed pre-budget just in case of changes. Staff went out of their way, even communicating with me after hours to get the transfer completed in time.
My Solicitor gave great advice on the many, many calls that I made to her.

We chose John M Lewis following a quote from our estate agent which seemed reasonable. We were assigned Kunal to deal with the conveyancing process for our house sale and purchase. As we were relocating from the midlands to Wales it was a particularly stressful time. Kunal was professional, efficient, excellent at communicating and dealt with all enquiries effectively. He was responsive to our emails and queries and we feel so glad that we had him during this process, he really was excellent. I will not hesitate to recommend him to others. The firm did well I believe with what was a difficult sale of property. Communication by phone or email was generally good and the solicitors to whom I was assigned were knowledgeable and friendly. Although the sale was a particularly protracted one this was not the fault of JM Lewis; the only blip was a handover from Rebekah to Rachel where things went quiet for a bit and there seemed to be some communication breakdown for a week or so.

The whole experience of selling was made easy through the on line portal that I was able to use to provide documents. There was also regular updates about the progress of the sale . My lawyer was proactive in chasing up the buyers solicitors. Would have been 5 star but there was an unexpected delay over the weekend in the funds clearing which it would have been useful to have been warned about.
