I would like to share my brief experience working with a solicitor from this firm Paulette Watson, but unfortunately, it was not a positive one. Right from the start, there was miscommunications between another firm, which led to a tense and unpleasant interaction. Despite being the victim in my case, the solicitor approached me with anger and was extremely abrupt in her manner.
During our brief conversation, she referred to my case as a "mess" and made me feel inadequate, even though the situation was not my fault. This left me feeling deflated and embarrassed, especially considering the already challenging circumstances and my desperation surrounding my unexpected legal case.
While I understand that solicitors have the right to decline cases that they don't believe are a good fit, I firmly believe that there is a better way to handle such situations. It would have been more appropriate if she had communicated her decision with empathy and grace, rather than exacerbating my feelings of distress.
Thankfully, another solicitor took over my case the following day and managed it with ease and settled within days which actually was a very quick prompt communication between firms. They displayed understanding and quickly resolved the matter, leaving me relieved. This stark contrast in approach highlighted just how poorly the previous solicitor handled the situation.
Looking ahead, I sincerely hope that this solicitor can learn from this experience and approach similar situations with more empathy and grace, particularly when declining cases for personal reasons and are in need. It is crucial to remember that clients are often going through difficult times, and a compassionate approach can make a significant difference in their overall experience.
