My partner and I used Ringrose to buy our first house and Amanda who was our solicitor was amazing very helpful and made our lives as easy as possible and took all the stress off of our shoulders, if you had any questions you could ring up or use the app which they use and they would be answered then and there(if they were asked during office hours). The whole experience was great and as painless as it could be. I would whole heartedly recommend Ringrose to anyone who is looking for a solicitor for buying a house. Excellent, attentive and professional.
Although I found the initial experience of using the portal rather difficult, the service I received from the team was excellent. Communication was good and any queries were answered promptly by Amanda.
Would definitely recommend.

Made no progress then dropped my case
I was completely let down by Amanda Finn and her team. From the very start, they were impossible to get hold off. Whenever I called the office either no one would pick up or I would get through to someone at reception who would tell me Amanda's team were all on break (no matter what time I called). I would be told that someone would call me back but they didn't. I would only get a call back if I requested one through the app.
Apart from requesting calls, the app was largely use-less. The stages of my sale or purchase were not updated so I had to speak with someone from the team to find out why there had been no progress reported for weeks. Progress was only made when I specially chased for an action to be completed.
At one point, I was so concerned about the lack of progress that I asked Amanda for a face-to-face meeting. She responded by telling me she wouldn't meet with me as she was going on holiday the next day and would be unavailable for a period of 3 weeks. She assured me that someone else from her team would handle my sale and purchase in her absence and confirmed that there would be no negative impact. However, the next day I was contacted by Ikra who told me my sale and purchase were being dropped because Amanda is on leave. (Another reason from this email was that the management company were taking too long to send the management pack, however I later found out that Ringrose had never requested the management pack in the first place). My estate agent and I both tried speaking to the team to understand this better as we had just been told by Amanda that everything would continue seamlessly. Ikra then confirmed that Ringrose would continue handling my sale and purchase.
The following day, Ikra contacted me and estate agent again and said that they were dropping my sale and purchase because of 'changes to the Buildings Safety Act'. The change they cited was in relation to the regulations for apartment buildings over a certain height. This change was made to the Act before Ringrose accepted my case AND also doesn't impact my purchase (which is a freehold semi-detached property). Despite this, Ringrose dropped my case. The estate agent and I both tried to get more information to understand this decision however Amanda's team were very vague and different members of the team gave me different information.
It is my opinion that the initial reason for dropping my case was correct, and that the chain of emails after this were to cover for Amanda who clearly hadn't planned any cover for my case while she was on a 3 week holiday. This theory was confirmed by a Ringrose employee.
Luckily I have been able to find a different firm who have already made more progress than Ringrose in a fraction of the time. I am grateful that my estate agent was included in the communications relating to this situation and they now know not to recommend Ringrose moving forward. I hope that this complaint gets taken seriously.

Very proactive and took control
Ringrose were very supportive and engaged. They updated us proactively. They chased the seller's and buyer's solicitors even when getting no responses.

House purchase
Very good service , a very different working method to my previous house purchases, very little face to face contact (zoom/teams) all emails.
Made it slightly less personal when asking complex queries ( on issue that where to us) to get emails answering said queries that were short and made us feel insecure for not understanding the legal terminology and asking said questions
After all we engage the legal service to cover our lack of legal understanding.
Over all the very stress experience concluded in a positive manner.

House sale
From start to finish this was a very long process and at times very stressful. Didn't always get a reply. It only seemed that things would prigresult if I emailed them for an update. Even when I took things into the reception it wasn't always good as it would depend on who was at reception. One lady was very abrupt and most unpleasant. Her people skills were non exultant also onbthe phone as well.

A kind partnership
I'm used to a solicitor working on my side in partnership with me. All too often this is an old fashioned approach with service sacrificed at the altar of efficiency. If you want refreshing service using modern techniques but without losing the personal touch Amanda at Ringrose strikes exactly the right balance.
