The sale of my house took around 6 months to complete, lack of communication with my solicitor throughout. Calls and emails not returned, incorrect information given to me - I was advised by my conveyancer they had sent all replies to enquiries to the buyers side however I found out a month later these hadn't been sent and it still took my Conveyancer another 2 months to respond to them. They were all fairly simple enquiries and I'd sent the ones I could reply to to my conveyancer within 24 hours of receiving them. In the end I sent a copy of my replies to the estate agents who forwarded them onto the buyers solicitor. What should have been a simple transaction with no chain on either side took double the time it should have and cost me thousands of pounds in extra payments. I get the impression that the solicitor could not keep up with the case load and is probably overworked, however this should not become the clients problem. The managers need to address case loads so that the clients overall experience is not negatively impacted.
