Wills and Probate for my late wife and dad

A soon as I entered the Samuel Phillips office I was welcomed with a very friendly receptionist who made me feel welcome and relaxed. I was introduced to Brooke March who again was very cheerful and welcoming, I explained how I lost my dad in June and then wife in August and need to sort their wills and probate, Brooke was so helpful and completed exactly how I wanted.

Superb service from Felicity Nelson

Our wills needed updating and they were quite complex...
Felicity was totally unfazed by all the various issues we brought to her, and instantly suggested brilliant, efficient solutions.
She was able to draft superb legal documents which articulated our extra specific wishes perfectly.
Felicity is friendly, professional, incredibly efficient and a pleasure to work with.
We now feel totally relieved that a job we have been putting off for years is now sorted out, and in the hands of the experts.

Family nightmares made bearable

Who knew the law for unmarried family’s would be so complex. Beth Courtney- Walker guided me seamlessly through the court system which is littered with problems. The UK court system needs to recognise the abuse isn’t just broken bones and bruises and the family courts need to see that children of abusive parents are also by default abused. Whilst this was the hardest, most draining fight of my life, the support Beth and her team provided was exceptional. I may not have liked or understood the process but I accepted that their advice was based on the best possible outcome for myself and my daughter in an out dated, misogynistic legal system that creates a playground for abuse to not only continue but escalate. Beth and her team, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for listening to my scream, cry and almost give up. Your support and advice saved me.

Will writing

I had an excellent experience with Samuel Phillips. I had an old Will with a different firm that was several years old and not applicable any longer so I needed it to be updated. Peter Durham explained everything thoroughly and it was all very easy to understand. His response time and communication was outstanding. It was a very easy process from start to finish. I would highly recommend Samuel Phillips in the future.

We used Samuel Phillips for the conveyancing of our house, and communication was below what we expected. After a few weeks without any email, I called them for them to tell me they didn't receive anything. The contact email address provided on the quote was apparently the head of department address and we should've sent documents to another one (that we had to guess ourselves?).

After a bumpy start, I have to say it was pretty efficient (hence why 3 stars and not 1), but still had to call to get any emails or any updates.

It's a real shame the house sale fell through: they were getting faster and faster, and better at sending emails. So efficient indeed that we received the (not so cheap for what was done) bill in exactly 7 minutes!

I wouldn't recommend if you are unfamiliar with the process of buying a house or if you don't have time to call them to get things moving; but I can't honestly say they were useless either.

Just sold a property which turned into a challenge with numerous problems with the buyers, their mortgage and the Lease of the building, but Samuel Phillips managed to still complete the sale. Would use again and recommend.
