Fantastic solicitors.

Kristine, was fantastic. She was instructed in the sale of my flat, and went above and beyond to ensure the process happened as smoothly and quickly as possible. The other sides solicitor was quite tricky to deal with- but Kristine handled them brilliantly, being able to push when it was needed but without ever over stepping. I would highly recommend Kristine and will definitely use her again with any other legal matters.

Very disappointing service

When we were originally put in touch with Miriam, we were quite impressed with the way our initial enquiry was dealt with and although the figure quoted to review our case was, in our opinion, very expensive, we decided to instruct Setfords.
However, over a period of time we became increasingly frustrated with Miriam continually repeating herself during telephone conversations (for which we were being charged by the minute) and paperwork being misplaced or lost.
After approximately 3 months with, in our opinion, Miriam’s advice taking us nowhere and having spent well over £7000.00, we felt that Setfords were really only interested in fee earning and not our best interests.
We therefore took the decision to instruct an alternative firm, who we have to say are acting far more proactively at a fraction of the cost.
To add insult to injury, having advised Miriam of our decision, it took her/her admin dept a further 3 months to furnish us with the correct invoices for what we had been charged.
We have been left very disappointed by the way our case was handled, not to mention a significant loss of time and amount of money.

Couldn't have asked for better service.

I am a complete novice to the mortgage process and Sam was so patient and helpful, explaining everything and always happy to answer my random questions. Her professionalism made a very anxious process so much easier. I'm so appreciative and won't hesitate to recommend her to others.

Excellent

I have never come across a Solicitor that always takes your call. If not available calls back within the hour. Spends time completely explaining things in a language you can understand. Also helps you fill in forms. Cannot fault Kristine at Setfords!

Purchase of property

Kristine has gone above and beyond to assist us in the purchase of our new house. The purchase was complicated by the fact that modifications had been made to a listed property. Kristine firstly advised us of this and then went through all the possible options on how to deal with the issues at hand. Throughout the process we were kept up to date with what was going on and advised how to proceed. I would recommend Kristine to anyone buying or selling a property

I bought a flat unit, The Preston in Leeds 2021. The North property agent Lucas Summer introducing me to Daniel Fredericksen as Consultant Property Lawyer. During the process due to COVID restrictions, a lot of things has changed. I just follow whatever steps that instructed by Mr Daniel.
Last year 2024, I was putting my property on the market, glad that I got an offer. Sad news was I found out land registration has not completed yet. Mr Daniel has not done what he promised, even worst comes to ask for £52.05 because of land registration fees increase. His irresponsible make my life stressful, because it takes longer time to sell the property. If you decide to use this company or you have done so, please check your land registration. To ensure that they have done their parts. 不要成為下一個受害者。

We didn't end up going with Setfords for our house purchase because the quote was a bit too expensive for us. However, I wanted to leave a review for Deah who was amazing during the early quotation stages. She was extremely helpful, friendly, diligent, and couldn't have represented the company any better. Had the quote been more in-line what we had in mind, we would definitely have considered Setfords on the back of her customer service.

Well, where do we begin, we were first time buyers and the stress we went through in the past few months was colossal but Carol our lovely solicitor and assistant Codi put us at ease in these stressful times, assuring that all deadlines were met with extra care, we went through the auction process and had to complete within 56 days, so the time was limited and we were at risk of losing our reservation fee on our property that we bought if we did not complete on time, in the end we finished before our deadline and completed ahead of time before the end of the year, we are so grateful for Setfords and would recommend anyone for their services. We are grateful for our first home and will never forget the help!

We used Sarah in Bristol Chipping Sodbury for a house sale and purchase. Initially used different solicitors but no progress at all after 5 weeks and being lied too, then instructed Setfords, all initial stuff done within just weeks, then whole process done within 12 weeks.

Would highly recommended and use again for any other legal stuff.

About this branch

Description

As well as a team of full-time lawyers based in our Guildford office we have over 400 consultant lawyers based both locally and across the UK. Each one is supported by a 130-strong central team. It means they are empowered and free to work in a more effective way. When you employ one of them to deliver legal services that is who will deal with your case from start to finish – you won’t be handed off to a junior member of staff. And because we aren’t housing all of our lawyers in one place, our costs are lower, which means you get that expert advice at a more competitive price than you might expect to pay at a traditional firm.
