£600 invoice for 1 day

We have used JCP for the purchase of 2 properties and have been really pleased. However we ran into a problem on the 3rd. We had signed a letter of engagement with JCP (quoted 1750 for conveyancing support for the whole transaction) and then 1.5 days later our lender confirmed we had to use one of their chosen conveyancers. When we informed JCP that same day they issued us with a £600+ invoice stating they had sent some emails. While I appreciate some monies were due for their time and would have been very happy to pay I just can’t believe that 1/3 of the work attributed to our total quote was completed in 1.5 days. We hadn’t even done ID checks. It’s a shame because we won’t be using them again. We also recommended several friends to them which will stop. The solicitor was even out of office one of the afternoons so I’m just baffled!

Professionalism at its best

We recently used JCP Solicitor's in the sale of our Dental Practice.
From start to finish we found them to be efficient & easy to communicate with.
They explained things when needed and were professional at all times.
Even with the pandemic changing the way that they work, they kept us up to date with the process.

Horrible experience

I lost my perfect flat due to JCP slow proceedings: 5 months and they didn't manage to complete the transaction. No communication, it has always been me chasing for updates and got lengthy emails full of excuses as responses. I am still expected to pay for the services they failed to provide.

Avoid at all costs! Engaged them regarding a name change over a year ago. The solicitors dealing with the paperwork constantly made mistakes (the first was rejected and returned by the courts) meaning that I had to re-attend their offices for corrections three times each with my wife, taking time off work and incurring travel costs. They have now asked me to re-attend again (this will be the 4th time) because of another mistake. What's worse is that I have copied in Hayley Davies, the CEO, in my last communications complaining about the matter and I have been ignored. I wanted to use a solicitor to ensure that the matter/paperwork was completed correctly and swiftly... I should have done it myself. No attention to detail, and poor customer service.

Dealt with Yee Leung, incompetence doesn't even come close to describing her. She was pulled off my purchase due to completely incorrect figures being sent to me and nearly cost me the sale.

When registering a complaint it was dismissed and they refused to look in to my case, the emails were there for proof and they refused to take any further.

Cowboy outfit by workers and leaders in their organisation. Utterly disgraceful.

Never use this company.
