My Will

I used this firm of solicitors at Hastings for when I moved house in 2000 and I was very pleased with their service so there was no question which firm of solicitors I was going to use for my new will and I am glad I did.

My Will

The procedure was straight forward. I'd been nervous about making my Will as I didn't know what to expect but Ruby put my mind at rest.

Sale of Property

The sale was not straightforward - equity release on the property. The buyer's buyer had trouble getting [named Housing Association] to assure them that they would have access to their property. Part of a grant from the council had to be paid back. Deeds of [named property] missing prior to 1959 - BUT Leanne dealt with it all, and calmed me when I was stressed!

Above and Beyond Service

We had 4 working days to sort out Power of Attorney paperwork and rewrite a will. Ruby went above and beyond to make this happen, which included home visits on three consecutive (cold, wet and rainy) evenings. Ruby was friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with (my mother is 93).

The price quoted was the price paid - no hassles

When Sarah did our Wills and Power of Attorney she explained it all in plain English, she quoted a price and stuck to that price, no problems, no hidden extras, no hassle.

I was pleasantly surprised at just how relatively straightforward purchasing a house appeared to be. I have no doubt that it appeared straightforward as a result of the professional and efficient manner of both Jane and Julia. I am very grateful for the assistance, and would not hesitate to recommend Heringtons to others.

I came to deal with Heringtons Solicitors because both my parents had died and I needed to sell their property in Little Common. As you can imagine it wasn't a very happy time. Both Jane Strickland and her associate Julia Keeping were fantastic. They were sympathetic to mine and my brother's situation but were professional from start to finish. Always on hand with advice and guidance.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jane and Julia to anyone. Their fees and also very reasonable. The only downside is parking is a nightmare around the office but it's a small price to pay.

About this branch

Description

We’ve been serving the people of East Sussex for around 250 years and can trace our history back to the firms of Raper & Fovargue in Battle and Dawes Son & Prentice in Rye in the mid 18th Century. There has been a lot of change and growth since then but we are still firmly rooted in the local community, combining legal excellence with a highly personalised service – for local people and businesses. Although constantly improving our use of technology to provide the most effective legal service, we still take the time and care to build one-to-one relationships with clients - a traditional way of working that’s fast disappearing in many law firms. As a client, you will usually work with the same lawyer and legal secretary throughout each engagement. There are some exceptions, such as in matters where you may need more than one specialist but, in most cases, you will have the dedicated support of the same well-qualified and experienced lawyer. We are accredited with the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) so you know that when you instruct us on a residential conveyancing matter, you are in safe hands. Whatever your legal need, whether personal or business, we look forward to helping you.
