Exceptional professional customer experience

Recognizing Karen Starkey for her superb assistance with all the necessary processes that follow someone's passing. Its hard enough to function when grieving but Karens professional advice, understanding demeanor and open style have been a huge support. She has also provided professional guidance to others that I have recommended her and Clifton Ingram to and made a huge difference . Could not recommend highly enough

Contact Order Proceedings - excellent care, excellent result

A year ago, my daughter's father issues proceedings against me. I'm sure if anyone has ever been to court they can understand the stress, emotions and fear it brings. I was lucky enough to have Anne Deller acting for me, with support of trainees. She is and was amazing. Compassionate, professional, friendly, understanding and incredibly personable. Very good at managing my emotions (and there were many) as well as providing insightful legal advice. She agreed to setting up a payment plan for which I will always be grateful as legal proceedings can be expensive and as a lone parent, I just did not have the finances to pay it all upfront. Legal cases are not about winning and sometimes the history between appellants and respondents can overshadow the wishes, feelings and what is best for the child. Anne always ensured that I put my daughter's wishes, feelings and wants first but would nevertheless ensured that I was given the final say in how to proceed. The order did go in our favour, my daughter and I have been able to get our lives back and she has been our steadfast throughout. All I can say is that if you do end up in court and you do go into battle - instruct Anne Deller. (Just a note to say that I have used Clifton Ingram twice - once for my divorce (clean break order) and again for the contact order and both have been in my favour. Stats don't lie!)

Great service and highly recommend!

Anne Deller has been fantastic throughout advising and supporting with a foreign property matter involving minors. It was not the every day sort of matter. Anne's help and advice throughout has been excellent and I would highly recommend Anne, her team and Clifton Ingram. Many thanks!

Help

My mother had had a fall and we knew she would need social care. We contacted Clifton Ingram as they had dealt with my fathers will and had drawn up my mothers will. We needed to clarify some issues. I originally contacted the office by email and spoke to Mandy who explained the process and arranged for myself and my husband to go into the office to meet Kirsty, who answered all our questions. The experience was really positive and I felt we were in good hands, as we were going through a very stressful time. Thank you.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID! The most incompetent, deceiving, inefficient and money grabbing 'legal firm' I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I never imagined that my journey with Clifton Ingram LLP, a firm I enlisted for a crucial commercial dispute, would turn into a nightmarish escapade. This 'legal firm,' if one could even grace them with such a title, has been a paradigm of incompetence and deceit.

From the outset, their communication was as clear as mud. Phone calls went unanswered, emails were met with cryptic responses, and the rare occasions we did converse felt like navigating through a labyrinth of confusion. It seemed as though each member of their team was more clueless than the last, a merry-go-round of inefficiency.

The advice provided was not just inadequate; it was misleading. 85% of the work I ended up doing myself. Every strategy they suggested led us down a path of increased complexity and cost, with no tangible progress. The case, which I initially believed to be straightforward, ballooned into an unrecognisable quagmire under their guidance.

And the fees! Oh, the fees were astronomical. It was as if their primary expertise was in crafting exorbitant invoices. For every minute of consultation, there was an inflated charge, and for every bungled piece of advice, another line item to the bill. Anything to increase their profits, at your expense. We should never have been advised to progress with 8 months of back and forth, when our dispute could have been settled without their help at the outset. Completely self serving and unprofessional.

In conclusion, Clifton Ingram LLP is a masterclass in how not to run a legal firm. Their blend of incompetence, inefficiency, and money-grabbing tactics should serve as a warning to anyone in need of legal assistance. Avoid at all costs, unless you fancy a foray into the absurd and expensive world of legal mismanagement.

Exceptional Poor Experience

Probate - Quoted 3 months, took 15 months. Very unresponsive from start to finish. Ignored emails,, never returned phone calls. Managed to get the deceased name wrong multiple times, resulted in insurance policies being withheld for nearly a year longer than necessary. Ultimately made a difficult situation x 10 worse.

To be balanced I had used them on three previous occasions and been very happy. Probate & Wills was an exceptionally bad experience. Service was unforgivable.

Awful

I have been dealing with this firm since around May/June 2020. My solicitor, Sarah Benfield, in my humble opinion was more of a mediator than my solicitor. This was a sensitive family matter and it seemed as if my solicitor, Mrs. Benfield was focusing more on appeasing the defendant in this case, and who for the majority of the time was not represented by her own solicitor. The other issues I had was that my solicitor left me 'high and dry' most of the time. I was given a choice of three barristers in the second directions hearing and at the last minute, two days before my hearing, the barrister I chose cancelled. I had been asking Mrs. Benfield to arrange for a conference call with this particular Barrister two weeks prior to the hearing. Mrs. Benfield then asked the district court to provide a barrister, who ended up being a total disaster. After my dissatisfaction with my representation, Mrs. Benfield promised to take up the matter with the court, however this never transpired. I requested that further directions be made for to vary contact, and on this occasion Mrs. Benfield would be at the hearing herself. At the last minute, yet again, Mrs. Benfield told me that she would not be able to attend court due to her having an appointment for her second COVID jab. Once again, I was put in a difficult spot, which would ultimately have an impact to the outcome of the hearing. She offered to get me another junior barrister, to which I declined, based on what previously transpired. I then made a complaint to her manager, who failed to deal appropriately with my complaint. Instead of trying to resolve my issues, Anne Deller, one of the managing partners, wrote to me and said that Sarah Benfield and the firm would not continue to represent me. This clearly demonstrates, that "The Firm" sided with their employee, who clearly failed me on numerous occasion. Their excuse was that they had nobody else to take over the case, which in my humble opinion was just an lame excuse.

Waited ages for a reply to my email - never came - had to email again. Told couldn’t have an appointment for two weeks and the person didn’t work afternoons
Really unimpressed that they have such a poor customer service - really feels like they aren’t interested in having your business at all. If they are so unreliable then best to go elsewhere.

In divorce mediation with my (now ex-) wife we had arrived at a tentative agreement and the mediator strongly advised us both to get legal advice on our proposed settlement. My new partner's divorce solicitors (Family First of Oxford) suggested Clifton Ingram and I took legal advice from Rashi Dawson at this company in a zoom session. I found Ms Dawson likeable and professional, and she helped me understand some of the issues I was unclear about. She followed up with a letter summarising our discussion and her advice.
I think the session was 2 hours and the price for the work was very reasonable (by the standards of lawyers' rates!).
I would recommend them.

Rashi Dawson was recommended to me when I was stuck in the midst of court proceedings. By the time Rashi consulted with me, I was already exhausted from the endless nonsense I had to deal with to settle with the other party. Rashi always guided me through my options, bearing time sensitivity in mind and protecting my mental health. She also always informed me of the incurred costs to make sure that I was comfortable and had financial control.

If you are going through family proceedings, such as divorce, I am sorry and strongly recommend reaching out to Rashi for advice. She isn't the cheapest professional out there, but it is worth it.
