I was negotiating a redundancy. Company was trying to change my job. I sent facts to this solicitor. I got a response super fast. Talked through the situation. Solicitor put together a letter to proceed with the process. I was given good advice and guidance all the way. Felt that I was well supported. Company gave me what I wanted.

I contacted Phillip with a fairly urgent need to review a document which was my own fault as I had sat on it without action longer than I should. I was expecting to have to ask for an extension to a deadline but this was not needed as Phillip was fully understanding of both me and my situation and promptly reviewed the document on my behalf two days ahead of the deadline. Great service and would highly recommend.

Took a few weeks longer than needed to because she was arguing some points I didn’t need her to but agreed in the end. Initial conversation with Philip was good, but didn’t realise someone else would actually manage my case and I had to explain it all again.

Despite there being a resolution to my settlement I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed. Redundancy is a scary time and given that I’ve not experienced it before, I wanted more guidance and empathy. I felt the process was far too disconnected and was more routine and transactional from their side rather than attempting to properly understand the needs of the client which is what is claimed in the website. The website narrative gives much more confidence but my reality was I just wanted to get it over and done with as it felt like I was asking inappropriate questions with the answers I was getting back, as if it was an inconvenience to them.

I can't fault the service I received from McCabe and Co. They really were super efficient and kept me posted from start to finish. I have since discovered that many of my colleagues, who used other solicitors to help with their severance package, were charged extra, whereas McCabe made it clear to me from the word go, that they wouldn't. And they have been true to their word.
