He was joined in 1953 by Lawrence Gibbon and their initials still remain as the name of our firm. We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional service we received from Helen and her team during our house moves. She goes above and beyond to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible, always keeping our best interests at heart. I never felt the need to ask for updates because I knew she would let us know as soon as there was news, which took a huge amount of stress off our shoulders. I was advised by a friend to use BG as he's a property developer and has used their business for many years. From my initial telephone call right through to the completion of my sale and purchase Helen Kent and her team have been nothing short of exceptional. The entire process was swift and the whole team are knowledgeable and helpful. No question or query is ever too difficult to get answered and response is quick and easy to understand. A house move is potentially the most stressful time of our lives. Trying to beat the labour deadline for an increase in stamp duty just triples that. But Helen Kent and her team, phenomenal. I had a hiccup at the start where I missed some paperwork requests, but that was no problem at all. You chased me, and everyone involved and ensured we were in time for the deadline, and kept me in the loop right up until I had the keys in my hand. Thanks so much!

TERRIBLE. Avoid this firm. Unhelpful and unresponsive staff who don't even follow their own formal complaints procedure, and when they do, only say what they need to to cover their backs if the SRA got involved. I was given a new solicitor and didn't even know their name for 2 and a half months, it wasn't until I mentioned pulling out of the sale that they got in touch. Weird! The negative reviews do not lie.

BG Solicitors is one of the oldest established practices in Grimsby, set up by the late Mr Tom Beetenson on 1st January 1944. He was joined in 1953 by Lawrence Gibbon and their initials still remain as the name of our firm. Since those early days, the Practice has grown steadily and is now one of the largest and most respected in the area. Our clients, both private and commercial, demand a first-class legal service, and through our commitment to quality standards throughout all areas of the practice, we ensure that’s exactly what they receive. The original BG base in Grimsby remains our largest office space, occupying a convenient central location with excellent access to public transport as well as nearby parking. In 2007 we incorporated the business and staff of Louth based Scammell & Braithwaite into BG Solicitors LLP and acquired our first satellite office. The merging of this well-respected firm into our own means that we now have a central Louth office, serving the needs of not only the local Louth clients but also those from the many surrounding villages.
