DO NOT USE LATIMER LEE!

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR CONVEYANCING.

Needed to transfer a property, no mortgage, only title deed changed.

1. Assigned us an incompetent, trainee solicitor.
2. Made us pay extra fees that we were subsequently told they weren't needed.
3. Took 4 Months of back and forth and then abruptly gave the case to someone else.
4. Made us pay extra to ID1 forms as they took so long the ID1 expired.
5. Never call back when they say they will.

Absolute incompetence from the start, and its still ongoing.

Excellent service for a fantastic price.

I cannot speak highly enough of the fantastic service I have received from Latimer Lee Solicitors Limited. I would highly recommend Latimer Lee Solicitors, especially Sara Baig who was the solicitor that dealt with me. Ms Baig was very efficent, dedicated, competent and professional through out our dealings. She was also always very friendly, helpful, polite and went above and beyond. Both Latimer Lee Solicitors and Sara Baig made the whole process so much easier for me even though we had a few hurdle to jump. Thank you all so very much.

Avoid!

Unprofessional, Overpriced and all out dissapointed.

After 6yrs and having paid over £15,000 in fees and invoicing for a further £10,000 I had no choice but to contact the Legal Ombudsman who took up my complaint (seems they handle quite a few from this particular firm)

They tried to charge me another £10,000 on top of my £15,000 for a standard 50/50 divorce and financial separation.

After complaining directly to them they reduced the additional £10,000 to £7,000 and after complaining again (they still couldn't tell me how this invoice was accumulated and the senior family department solicitor cancelling all 3 meetings I had in the diary for 'personal reasons') the Ombudsman man demanded them to revoke any more charges as they indeed were not acting in my best interests and confirmed I had been overcharged massively!

They were given a deadline of 14th April to pay back what was in my client account and send me my decree absolute and court order, which I still hadn't received despite it being granted over 14mths ago!

They still ignore emails and now I have had to contact the Ombudsman again to chase this matter up.

This firm have left me with an awful experience from being late to court hearings and telling complete lies about my case (they didn't know me and my exhusband still spoke) and were playing each other off using the other and blaming the other parties solicitor who in the end also complained about Latimer Lee being non efficient!

Honestly if I can give anyone any advice it would be to use another firm and save yourself thousands of pounds and years of time and worry!

Update 13.05.22 still chasing and no reply to my emails.

Rubbish

Absolutely dreadful. The worst service I have received by anyone, ever.
We used these cowboys for our conveyancing.
"Communication is key" as it says on their website. This is an utter lie. If you can get through to the receptionist (which is very difficult) your solicitor will not be available. It does not matter how many "urgent" messages you leave, they will NEVER EVER call you back. We'd been dealing with them since September and never had a call back. They would also completely ignore your emails. It was so bad that I genuinely considered driving up to Manchester to talk to them (I live in London). I even tried messaging them on Facebook to try to get hold of them. The only time I was really able to talk to my "solicitor" was when I asked to speak to their supervisor. Sana and Amir are so incompetent I genuinely doubt if they are qualified. Incompetence would be putting it lightly. Several basic queries were left until the point of exchange such as boundary issues and if the house was on an adopted road (they had this information for months). They will lie through their teeth and say things have been done when they haven't. Everyone in our chain complained about them including other solicitors and professionals. AVOID like the plague. We tried making a complaint to them but this was also ignored.

Completely Incompetent

Possibly the worst company I’ve ever dealt with.
They managed to lose my original wedding certificate, even though I supplied a pre-paid special delivery envelope for its insured return.

Avoid at all costs

I chose this firm for the sole reason that they offered a very competitive quote. Prior to instructing them I carried out my due dilligence and was aware that they had numerous poor reviews. As I was only looking to have two unencumbered properties remortgaged I thought it wouldn't really be a problem if the service was poor as it wasn't like the sale could fall through or be compromised as I was only raising equity. How wrong I was.....It has been 6 weeks and since sending the initial documentation back NOTHING has been done which is confirmed by their online case management system. It is extremely difficult trying to even get through to the firm let alone somebody who is dealing with the matter. I have left numerous messages and e-mails over a period of weeks asking for an update after receiving nothing over the 6 week period and none have been even acknowledged let alone responded to.

I have even e-mailed the complaints partner who hasn't had the courtesy to respond. I am a professional property investor and have used many firms for 25+ instructions over the years, this firm really is unique, I have never experienced such poor client care. I have now instructed another firm who will complete the whole transaction from start to finish in less time than it has took them to review the initial completed documents.

Avoid at all costs, you have been warned.

Avoid at all costs

Really terrible service throughout the entire buying/selling process. They have two separate teams who don't seem to speak to each other that doesn't help and we found actually speaking direct to our purchaser was far more efficient. However, you kind of expect this with solicitors.

The big issue was our solicitor at Latimer Lee, dealing with the purchase, forgot to pass on the intended moving date to our seller (that we and our buyer had been working to for a month) and we only found out the week we were due to move that this wasn't workable for our seller and had never been communicated to them. This ended up costing us over £600 in removal and storage costs and we were effectively homeless for a week.

When we made a formal complaint to Latimer Lee they said they'd investigate and despite chasing this up with them they haven't had the decency to get back to us over a month later. I'd avoid this company at all costs.
