At first she was great, friendly and warm, I was in a bit of a rush so maybe didn't help the relationship, but it's quite a stressful experience. Then things started to slip, she would just not respond to my emails and phone calls, and tell the estate agent things that she hadn't told me - who woukd then tell me.
When I pointed out that communication was important especially if there were delays she sent one line back 'I completely agree' promptly told the estate agent something she'd not told me and went on holiday for a week without saying or leaving an out of office reply.
(I bet you're thinking great she probably needed it and I wish I could say things improved after that.)
I think the thing that was most alarming was the day before completion I received an email late at night from my solicitor with a bill for £1800 and if I paid it immediately I could collect the keys in the morning, however the total bill was supposed to only be £1400 and I'd already paid £410 plus there were a bunch of searches on there I'd already paid for.
I think if there's one thing it's important to get really right it's the bill, especially if you are producing it in this way.
