Following a distressing experience with the long standing and so-called reputable solicitor of an elderly relative, the need to find a solicitors practice that operated with integrity became of paramount urgency.
Eventually, I discovered Kennys Solicitor’s and what stood out immediately was that this was a practice run predominantly by women. Due to our particular circumstances, this was very much a positive as we were anxious to find somewhere we were confident that our elderly relative would not feel overwhelmed if visiting alone and where they would be listened to with understanding and sensitivity. The second major plus was the fact the practice lists their charges and fee structure openly on their website, a sign of integrity and a feature that many other lawyers could benefit both themselves and their clients by adopting the same strategy.
Within 24 hours of my initial contact with the practice I was speaking with Imogen Manuel about the various problems and issues that needed to be addressed and very quickly she organised an action plan to tackle these. In legalistic terms I personally found Imogen’s approach a breath of fresh air. She is extremely knowledgably and if there was something outside her field of experience, she would relay this straight away rather than pretend otherwise.
As is often the case with legal affairs, it has been a long journey to resolve matters. I was so impressed with Imogen’s approach that we asked her to take over the rewriting of our Wills and to incorporate certain things that we had previously been told by another legal practice were not possible.
Based on my experience and the excellent advice and guidance, I have no hesitation in recommending Imogen. Finally, a good practice is about teamwork, Penny Cawte, her assistant is an excellent administrator and ensures everything runs smoothly.
