Overall a good experience. Staff are responsive and polite. A couple of last minute realisations regarding awareness of some details of the conveyance process including my personal legal liability in ensuring a family member vacates a property prior to completion were untimely and unsettling. Gabriel and Connie deserve a special mention.

My Will

I found my experience at MJP Law pleasant. The receptionist was welcoming. Lucy Haslam, the solicitor who dealt with my will, discussed very clearly all of the areas I needed to be aware of to produce a will to my wishes and peace of mind. Thank you.

Avoid

My experience with MJP Law during my house purchase and sale was disappointing. They were slow, often requested documents I had already provided, and made errors in figures and calculations. Communication was poor, including some queries that were never replied to at all.

There was also a discrepancy between the initial quote (based on Dorset area conveyancing) and final invoice (London), which was frustrating given they knew from the beginning that my transaction was in London. They did not revise the final invoice despite this.

MJP Law also seemed to cause delays in exchanging contracts.

In a separate case they handled for me, things went more smoothly, but billing errors persisted. When calling to make a payment, the amount quoted was sometimes higher than the invoice, and I had to dispute overcharges myself.

If you choose to work with them, I’d recommend double-checking everything, as they were prone to mistakes in my case.

Selling of mothers bungalow

Would not hesitate to recommend Gabby Bowie or her assistant Connie Warburton-Pugh. They dealt with this sale with empathy and professionalism and spoke in a language I could understand which I could relay to my mum.

Exactly the solicitor I was seeking

I needed a named solicitor - not just a named practice who would get us a traditional family solicitor, someone with whom my executors could deal with directly after my death. I found Stephanie both understanding and reassuring.
