ESTATE AGENTS & HOME BUYERS / SELLERS AVOID.

As an estate agent who has passed over a LOT of business, we have consistently been let down by Franklins over the past few months who are just not interested in the work anymore... and it shows.

ALL staff are RUDE & extremely unprofessional. If you are after an update then expect a defensive & dismissive reply after DAYS of waiting. Want to speak to your case handler? They’re too busy or in meetings.

Lee Holmes hides behind his computer and won’t bother to lift a finger if you ask for help.

Emma will show you how unimportant you are as a client and that her priorities are elsewhere.

Sharon Grists team are pretty non existent and will begrudgingly give you an update after blaming everyone else in the transaction.

From here on we are taking our business to another firm, who actually want it.

House move - extremely slow service. Frustrating is an under statement

We contacted the conveyancing department yesterday regarding issues with my daughter's house move. We live in Australia. Managed to speak to the person responsible for dealing with the move, insisted she send us the information necessary for us to assist with speeding up the matter. This person assured us that she will send documents through via email within a day. It is day 2 and we have not received anything from her. When we spoke to her on the phone from Australia, we were insistence that she acts quickly as this may impact on my daughter's house purchase. Potentially she could lose the purchase after having already waiting for 8 months for Franklins to conduct the purchase. We are totally disappointed and and dissatisfied with the conveyancing team and their attitude with the handling of properties purchase. We are surprised with the number of negative reviews they are still in business. The next stage would be for us to contact the legal ombudsman regarding their practice.

Very slow and very hard to contact to

I found them awfully slow and almost impossible to contact them. We had to delay the exchange for a week due to my solicitor's inability to communicate. I had to chase them number of times during that 3-4 months period, sometimes estate agents had to nudge them. Overall they made the process a lot of stressful.

Worst experience I have ever had with a law firm

I had the worst experience you could imagine with this law firm. It was a family law matter and from having senior partners tell me ‘I just want to get this off my desk’ to being passed around with no less than FIVE different solicitors taking over the case during one year. There was no consistency or continuity and on top of everything I felt they did wrong which is a very long list, they also overcharged and charged multiple times for the same work, as yet (even after admitting the overcharging) they have not reimbursed me. I made a formal complaint about all of this and as per their own company procedures this should have been dealt with or responded to in 30 days, it has been seven months of excuses for not getting back to me. I advise against using this firm, they are expensive unorganised and disrespectful. If I could say more and give a lower rating I would. I am now filing a formal complaint with the legal ombudsman.

I had a horrible experience and want to warn others so they don’t have to spend thousands for the same outcome.

Lastly, once I fired them and engaged another firm my case proceeded smoothly and I ‘won’ as I ended up with exactly the outcome I had proposed and fought for. I wish I had not chosen Franklins to represent me in the beginning

Very poor Service

Very poor service. House moving can be stressful enough but my seller almost pulled out twice due to bad service Franklin's provided. I would call to speak to Lee Holmes or his team and they were never available to accept my calls. If someone did answer they didnt know details regarding my property. It took a very stressful 8 months for my sale and purchase to complete. Constantly having to call and email the team to chase for updates. I sent hundreds of emails requesting updates. Franklin's in leighton buzzard and Northampton are supposed to be amazing. Do not confuse them

Poor Shocking Services

Poor Shocking Services
I chose Milton Keynes Franklins Solicitors purely based on the really good online reviews and it was such a mistake. The whole experience has been extremely stressful.
The firm took our case on the 6th Aug 2021, the solicitor was Shiv Agnihotri, he didn’t do anything for us until 45 days later. Finally, when he started looking into our purchase, it was already Oct 2021, then we were told a month later he left the confirm on the 25th Nov 2021 and our case has been passed on to a new solicitor, Lee Holmes. We immediately contacted to our new solicitor for an update, but we didn’t hear anything back until 22nd Dec 2021. During this one-month period, we have emailed, called numerous times, but we were never able to speak to him, only his assistants and the answer was always that the solicitor was reviewing the file.

Bear in mind, I was buying a bog standard apartment without mortgagee, and there was no upper chain in seller side and he and his solicitor was cooperated. It supposes to be an easy transaction, but it took more than 5 months to complete. We have had a few houses transactions in the past, this is the most painful experience. I have never worked closely with the seller (this is the only time) to push the deal through. One of those weeks, I had to call them almost every day for them to follow up my case.
I have paid Franklins Solicitors more than £1400 for their service and I haven’t received the service I deserve. The reason why I publish this review now is that I just receive the document from the Land Registry and I don’t have deal with Franklins Solicitors anymore. I don’t trust them AT ALL.

Purchased property & found property is not registered under my name!

I purchased my apartment via the help to buy scheme 4 years ago with the help of Kris from Franklins. Currently, I am trying to repay the equity loan. During the process, I was told that my property is not registered!!

I called Franklins and reached Kris. He said he could not help much, and I needed to go to the Conkur team. I have contacted them but have yet to receive any responses.

It is highly stressful and potentially has financial consequences. Considering I have already paid the admin, legal and surveyor fees for repaying my equity loan. If it could not be closed within 3 months, that money would be lost. Also, from next year onward, I will also be paying the interest from the equity loan...

I hope there will be better support from the firm with the case...will update here if I hear anything from them.

This is a review of the work of Maya Butt and her colleague Lydia. They handled the purchase of our property - we are moving away from Milton Keynes. Maya and Lydia were thoroughly professional. Maya answered queries quickly, explained points which were not immediately clear, and pointed out issues for further inquiry. She solved minor problems arising from other parties. Her work was accurate and precise. We met with Maya and Lydia to sign the 'forms', and they were both kind and paid proper attention to legal detail. True professionals. Thanks!!

Our experience with Franklins Solicitors for conveyancing was brilliant. Maya was great, acting promptly and professionally throughout the process. Despite a tight deadline, she ensured everything was handled efficiently, allowing us to achieve completion on time. We are very happy with the service—thank you so much.

This company does not even deserve 1 star. Absolutely appalling service especially as it is one of the more expensive solicitors within Milton Keynes. Myself and my partner are first time buyers, our experience was made especially awful by Sharon Grist who does not have an ounce of customer service skills and I think she does not realise that she is fulfilling a service for clients so should conduct herself with politeness and at least some professionalism. Her responses to many of our emails made us feel like an inconvenience to her. Often never even replying to emails with a greeting. At one point, after we had asked what was going on with our case as we were two months in to the process and we had been left completely in the dark and had never once been able to get Sharon on the phone or speak to anyone that could give us a clear understanding of what was going on, Sharon emailed us and instead of reassuring us that our case was being dealt with she told us that if we wish to instruct different solicitors then to do so. This was 2 months after taking our case so as you can imagine for two first time buyers this was quite distressing. Sharon also attempted to incorrectly charge us an additional £900 and when asked to recorrect this charge she failed to even apologise for her mistake. She also forgot to process our land registry tax form which has ended with us being fined which the company has agreed to pay, as they should. Our help to buy ISA bonus form was also not processed which has ended with us being without hundreds of pounds which was meant to be used to furnish our new home. I would also like to point out that Sharon is listed as a senior manager at Franklins so I’m sure a certain level of professionalism and experience would be expected. I would not recommend Franklins to anyone I know and I would advise anyone who is thinking of instructing this company to not bother wasting their money and look elsewhere.
