We used to Awdry Law to purchase our first property based on local recommendations. At the start we were very happy to have chosen Awdry Law, and it felt like we had got a bargain, unfortunately it all started to tail off the minute the process got slightly difficult.
The property had a few issues, we were assured they were small and it was common for us these sort of issues to popup, but here’s where everything went pear shaped, everyone started pointing fingers at each other but no one was actually trying to figure the issues out, instead everything was the 3rd party solicitors fault. I waited a few weeks for it all to figure itself out, but it didn’t, just more forward and back making a stresssful situation worse.
We felt the questions we were asking were fairly simple, but the answers we were getting made no sense and often had to play ‘email tennis’ to get to the bottom of something, lots of things were being ‘misunderstood’ despite them being direct questions regarding the issues raised.
I appreciate the 3rd party solicitor was being difficult, but ultimately I resolved the issue myself having waited close to 3 weeks for it to be sorted between the solicitors. For some clarity, the issue in question was resolved with me having a 25 minute conservation with the governmental agency in question. That was all that was needed, but instead everyone wanted to point fingers.
Overall, we do feel very let down, and the value for money factor definitely hasn’t been met in our eyes, given the extra we paid versus other quotes we had. I feel we were heavily involved in problem solving when we had paid for someone else to do this for us.
