I recently completed my will with Emma Paxton from Ann McCabe. The whole process was excellent right from my initial phone call through to signing. Emma explained everything in clear simple terms and ensured I understood every part of the will.

Having failed to ‘do it myself’ in respect of setting up Lasting Powers of Attorney for me and my wife, we decided to handover the work to a solicitor (and add an update to our wills).

Hitherto we were clients of Grindey’s in Stoke, who now have folded. We therefore had to find a new firm of solicitors.

We wanted a local (to Clayton) firm,
with experienced staff to handle our business. Using Google (the Patron Saint of Search Engines and Rapid Internet Responses), we chose McCabe’s.

Following a couple of friendly meetings with the relevant staff, there was a rapid turnaround and all was wrapped up.

It was not as cheap as ‘doing it myself’ but we now can sit back knowing that the LPAs and Wills for me and my wife and our children are watertight and what we wanted.

My husband and I made an appointment with Adele Baskerville to arrange our Will.
She was very thorough and, if we didn’t quite understand anything, she willingly went over the subject again.

We have now asked Adele to sort out the two Lasting Powers of Attorney (financial and health). She sent a letter notifying us of their fees for this work so we were made aware from the start. This is how a business should function with no surprise invoices sent out to clients (as we have experienced in the past with another firm of solicitors).

We decided a couple of years ago it was time to make our wills. We had no idea how to go about it and because of reviews I had seen we decided to go to Ann McCabe. We were made very welcome and put at ease straight away. We have them a brief as to what we wanted and they took loads of notes plus they told us of "what if" scenarios that we would never have been aware of. They drew up a draft copy within the week and sent it to us for approval. Apart from a few minor things we forgot all was good. We spoke a few times to Emma (Paxton) who was extremely helpful and obliging. We recently had to amend it slightly and again Emma was extremely helpful and all went smoothly.
All in all we had a great experience and would HIGHLY recommend anyone to use them. You won't be disappointed. Give them a try.
