Looking like they will cost us our purchase due to a complete lack of focus. They appear to be just a factory process with very junior staff, who just don't have the knowledge or time to progress a simple purchase or communicate in an effective way. We were cash buyers for a property where the vendors were prepared to move out immediately. Should have taken 6 weeks to complete, but 14.5 weeks later still no replies to any of my queries I raised and no sign of any contracts. I escalated after 8 weeks to their directors who also just don't appear to be interested. Complaint now raised. I could go on and on but my personal view is to avoid if you want any kind of customer service and focus.

Danielle was recommended to me and from my very first meeting with Danielle it was apparent why the recommendation had been made, she was kind, compassionate, friendly, caring and above all else extremely professional. Danielle was thorough and made sure I understood everything, she went through every detail with me and made sure I understood what was happening all the way through the process. Her kind and professional manner made it easy for me to ask questions and nothing was too much trouble. Danielle was so efficient and worked in such a timely manner, she communicated with me by sending emails then following the email up with a quick telephone call. Overall an exceptional service. I was recommended these Solicitors by my chosen Estate agents to assist with conveyancing for a property I was selling. Their reviews were promising and I was keen to make the experience go as stress free as possible. There was very little contact in the first 5 months after agreement of sale and I just put this down to work being completed in the background. 6 months down the line I had to finally check on progress as the sale was meant to be simple, was chain free on both parties and I was concerned about the unstable way the property market and mortgages were playing out in the media.
I would have really appreciated a regular courtesy email to update on the situation rather than have to chase and rely on my estate agents for feedback (Hunters - who were excellent from start to finish). I resorted to having to send messages weekly to try and draw out information to what should have been an uncomplicated sale. I thank Jane Nightingale for the help she gave and I appreciate a lot of the barriers came from the buyers Solicitors dragging their heels.
Overall it was an ok experience and as a professional myself, I had higher expectations for the fees I was paying. I thank Howells for getting me through eventually, despite a weeks delay after agreed completion. Careless error on Buyers Solicitors part to request release of funds caused the delay and in my opinion should have been a fundamental task to do ahead of exchange and completion. I was fortunate not have booked removal vans etc…..
