I was recommended these Solicitors by my chosen Estate agents to assist with conveyancing for a property I was selling. Their reviews were promising and I was keen to make the experience go as stress free as possible. There was very little contact in the first 5 months after agreement of sale and I just put this down to work being completed in the background. 6 months down the line I had to finally check on progress as the sale was meant to be simple, was chain free on both parties and I was concerned about the unstable way the property market and mortgages were playing out in the media.
I would have really appreciated a regular courtesy email to update on the situation rather than have to chase and rely on my estate agents for feedback (Hunters - who were excellent from start to finish). I resorted to having to send messages weekly to try and draw out information to what should have been an uncomplicated sale. I thank Jane Nightingale for the help she gave and I appreciate a lot of the barriers came from the buyers Solicitors dragging their heels.
Overall it was an ok experience and as a professional myself, I had higher expectations for the fees I was paying. I thank Howells for getting me through eventually, despite a weeks delay after agreed completion. Careless error on Buyers Solicitors part to request release of funds caused the delay and in my opinion should have been a fundamental task to do ahead of exchange and completion. I was fortunate not have booked removal vans etc…..

Efficient friendly service
Jane and Kathryn worked on the sale of my mother's property. We had significant pressure from the chain to complete as soon as possible and this was achieved in double quick time thanks to the early work of Kathryn and the 'can do' attitude of Jane who worked hard to move any obstacles and deliver completion ahead of schedule. Thank you.

Jane is the best
Jane always returned my e mails promptly and efficiently, was always upbeat, calm and easy to deal with and I always knew she was there to help me reach a conclusion with the sale. She is a marvellous asset to the company.
Whilst writing I would also like to add that the reception staff in Bridge Street and on the phone are also exemplary to deal with

Property Sale
Howells Solicitors recently carried out the conveyancing for the sale of our property. We dealt mainly with Jane Nightingale who explained the process and kept us informed throughout. She was very approachable and responded promptly to all queries. Jane met with us in person then most of the communication and documentation exchange was done electronically through an App which was easy to use and very convenient. I wouldn't hesitiate to recommend Howells and in particular Jane if you are looking for a friendly, professional service.

Invaluable find in the market of solicitors...
Words cannot express the experience, other than they was very professional at all time, there correspondence & communication was brilliant,& allways helpfull with all aspects of the law etc,especially with someone like me who was old school, & didn't understand the modern technology of downloading documents,it was no trouble for them to help get through the process signatures documentation..

Highly recommend
Used the service for conveyancing for my late parents home. Absolutely brilliant service, I was kept up to date all the way through and would definitely use them again.
