Such a sressful experience
I first have to give Convey Law kudos for a brilliant conveyancing experience last autumn and that was the reason we chose them again. And things looked really positive, at first, last December. Our conveyancer was prompt and communicative... we were really happy with her ... but then our case was handed over to another conveyancer and there were repeated delays and errors that led us to contacting the MD and Head of Legal 3 days before our completion was due to go through.
We did complete on 13th March but are now waiting for Client Services to resolve a dispute about inappropriate charges on our final statement.
Two weeks post completion we are still experiencing problems with the same conveyancer who has failed to answer our emails for two whole business weeks and we've asked for the MD to intervene again. Convey Law are holding onto £5000 of our completion monies on the promise of pursuing a Land Registry application but we have been unable to get an acknowledgement or update. The standard of service is a mockery and astonishingly disrespectful.
There are lots of glowing reviews on Trust Pilot - mine, from last year, is one of them - but it does seem that getting a good conveyancer is a bit of a lottery. And our experience this time has really clouded our opinion of Convey Law which is a shame. I hope the new MD is able to turn things around. Surely they'd rather have solid 4 star reviews on Trust Pilot than swing between 5s and 1s!
