The WORST

So slow, and they don't answer the most basic of questions, last week on the 25th i got a letter emailed to me dated the 9th July, really wish i looked into the before i used them. srated 4 months ago and they have still not even sent enquires to the sellers solicitors! use with caution!!!

Would give zero stars if possible!

Cannot begin to explain how unprofessional this company is! Or at least the arrogant and rude team they have are unprofessional.

Had a horrific experience with them.

Completely incompetent, their poor performance meant we missed our move in date, no accountability and forbid you complain because they’ll get a gobby and gas lighting swine to call and basically berate you for daring to question them. Over charged for a TERRIBLE service. Have lodged an official complaint with them but doubt they’ll take any notice.

Our broker and estate agents both experienced the same failings from them. This is not an isolated incident.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!

WILLS – REVIEW ON MY LAW MATTERS, URMSTON – MARCH 2024

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jane Molden, Legal Executive at My Law Matters in Urmston, Manchester, to carry out Will work.

We were amazed with Jane’s grasp of our legal needs in connection with our complicated Wills and we were given extremely efficient advice and service. Jane undertood our requirements very well and carried them out very professionally.

Our Wills were turned round in two weeks, including drafts, and everything was fully explained to us including being given commentaries on our initial requirements meeting. The subsequent Wills were well-structured and easily understandable.

Additionally, the My Law Matters team at Urmston were very friendly and their prices were extremely competitive compared with other local solicitors.

We cannot recommend Jane highly enough and are very grateful to her for making this process an extremely straight-forward and pleasurable experience.

My experience with Fentiman Legal/My Law Matters:
(Scenario: Conveyance case, cash buy, first time buying, no chain with adequate documentation)

1. Zero update until one month after opening the case. Solicitor was blaming the seller's agent while he didn't follow up for me at all.
2. Never reply emails until chased repeatedly.
3. When being questioned why responding so slow, solicitor told me to change to a 'more bespoke service'. Non-apologetic.
4. Portal is not helpful at all. The progress bar does not reflect real progress.
5. Can't find anyone on phone unless they call you. It's a one way communication.
6. Still query at the very end of transaction of my source of funding. Even confused my case with another client's mortgage case.
7. FOUR (4) months process in total with much frustration. Causing distress to me and seller.

Conveyancing case - do not use

Very poor service and communication from the outset.

Conveyancing case. First time buyer with mortgage agreed, buying a vacant property from a developer. No chain, should have been simplest transaction in the world to complete.

Began with initial delay in them sending me the initial paperwork as apparently they couldn't send it until they'd spoken to me to verify my email address (never mind the fact that they'd already emailed me with the details for the online portal, and they would have been able to see I'd received that and logged in). But to do this they made one phone call attempt, left no message, made no attempt to send sms/whatsapp, and then left it. Wasn't until i called in two weeks later to query why I'd not heard from them that they finally sent it to me.

Then a further delay as i accidently missed one tick-box in the mountain of forms to fill in, but they didn't think to actually contact me to let me know. Again, was only resolved when i called in to chase them up 2 weeks later.

Then a further delay when my case handler went on leave, which is fair enough in itself, but with no alternative case handler assigned to work on her cases while she was on honeymoon, so the file was left totally dormant for another few weeks.

All told it was 7-8 weeks from being instructed until they'd even notified the vendors solicitors that they were acting and raised any queries. Even when the queries were returned they sat on it for weeks without looking, and then lied about when they received them (i saw the responses the vendor sent and the date on them was approx 3 weeks earlier than the date MLM claimed to have received it).

Emails not replied to, calls not returned, nothing but frustration.

Eventually got the job done, but what should have been a quick and simple 8 week purchase ended up taking over twice that.

Lacking attention to detail

Takes forever for someone to answer the 0800 number.
Their charges are reasonable.
They failed to pay attention to details and so mistakes were made. No apology was given or recompense.

They saved me from another fall through on this property purchase after my previous solicitors who shall not be named failed to contact me for 3 weeks. My Law Matters came to my rescue.
