I would definitely not recommend Hughes Paddison. They were appointed as executors for our late mother’s will but, despite all their promises, they demonstrated very little commitment to completing the process in a timely manner. For example, they told us not to use the Government ‘Tell Us Once’ service as they would complete it … and then didn’t bother to do anything about it! The result was a greatly extended time-frame for completion as they had to contact everyone individually. They waited three months before chasing a reply to emails they had sent. They also almost doubled the charges they originally quoted when they started the process but didn’t tell us this until after completion.
We complained to the Legal Ombudsman who fully reviewed the case and found in our favour, determining that Hughes Paddison had not provided “a reasonable level of service” in certain areas. We received a 15% refund of the final charge.
