Alan Craig was a rock during the sale of the above premises. He was always reassuring when the other side put obstacles in the way of progress and caused me to panic a little, but when I called Alan he reassured me that these things were quite normal now adays. he was very professional, very calm and was always courteous throughout the process. I called him quite often at 8.30 a.m. and he answered right away in his calm professional manner. He was a pleasure to deal with.

Gilson Gray were exactly what I needed from a conveyancing solicitor. Alan was always quick to respond and gave clear and concise information. No fluff, just good advice and got on with what was necessary.

I came into contact with Gilson Gray via Yopa Estate Agents who were marketing my house for sale. Alana Arthur conducted the legal and administrative tasks which naturally go along with this process.
I found Alana to be timeous, efficient, organised and generally on it which is what is required and indeed my expectation when employing legal services. In addition Alana has a friendly, cheery manner which helped tremendously when trying to navigate the sometimes stressful situation of selling a house. A member of staff who is able to be both professional and 'human' is a pleasure to work with.

Alan at Gilson Grey was all you could ask for from a solicitor when moving from England to Scotland.
He kept us updated & answered any questions I asked, plus giving my English solicitors a gee up that we’re handling my sale.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a solicitors.

Very unhappy with Gilson Grey. I poured 50k into their pockets and when I got into financial difficulty and couldn't pay 1 invoice in full they dropped me like a hot potato causing me a lot of grief in court. They refused a payment plan and are threatening to make me bankrupt if I don't pay in full. No humanity, just want to hear if I can pay in full. Check their billing before deciding to hire them. It was £49+ vat per email (read, reply, read and send = £196+vat per communication with the other side). I was also charged £16.50 per text message (read or send) and was encouraged to communicate this way for small questions. A few times I queried the bill and it came down several hundred pounds. Before Gilson Grey want to argue this I am happy to post screenshots with relevant info redacted to prove my claim. They were poor in communication and in keeping me up to date. I had to chase and was charged for the privilege. They didn't do half of what I asked of them for court. They just did the bare minimum for £265+vat per hour. My new lawyer in contrast, keeps me up to date, listens to me and has put forward what I have asked and has already made a drastic change to my case. My advice is look elsewhere.
