THE FASTEST CONVEYANCER EVER

Sarah Oram, of Edward Harte Solicitors, took me from my buyer's offer to exchange of contracts in exactly 3 weeks! OK, there were no chains but even so, I have never known such speed, thoroughness, and the ability to keep me constantly calm in all my years of buying and selling! Thank you, Sarah. Looking forward to buying my new home now.

Best solicitors I've worked with

I got recommended Sarah at Edward Harte through a friend after hearing horror stories about solicitors and this was the complete opposite experience. Sarah and the team at Edward Harte are caring, diligent, conscientious, quick to reply and very helpful. They offer up really good advice and made the process of me buying my first home as smooth as it could be. I have recommended Sarah to two other friends who were looking to move and they have also both echoed my sentiments saying that the process of buying / selling is the most stressful thing but it was made easier knowing they were in good hands with Sarah. I'd use her for anything in the future.

Did what was requested

I needed help with a fairly complex situation regarding my property. Sam understood the issues efficiently and drafted appropriate letters and communications promptly. Frustratingly however we were unable to unlock the resistant other party without the need to go to full on litigation, which I chose not to do.
I would have welcomed being kept informed throughout of the accumulating charges, and also do not understand why methods of payment are not supplied with the final invloice.

I was given a settlement agreement by my employer with just 10 days to complete it. I had no idea where to turn.

Yasmin was excellent in helping me and being available during a period of intense stress.

Massive thank you

I have just used Edward Harte Solicitors to review and amend my redundancy proposal. Yasmin Govan was the solicitor that guided me through the process, at 56 and for the first time being made redundant it was a scary process but Yasmin and her kind and caring personality made me feel so much better and the task seemed easier for me to process, I cant praise her enough and i massively appreciated her help and support, she is a true asset to your team. Thanks Yasmin.

Lack of care

We recently used Sarah Oram for our sale and purchase and pretty much from the start Sarah sounded irritated by my calls and would tell me how busy she was or how many completions she had. We were scared to speak to her and pretty much left her alone for the months the completions dragged on for. All the updates came from our estate agents otherwise the stress would have caused me to walk away from the whole thing. The way Sarah would speak to me on the phone during the most stressful times leading up to the exchange was like being spoken down to or like we were naughty children as opposed to paying clients. Sarah was recommended to us for her care and attention which we didn’t get a single scrap of. We used Robert previously and he was lovely and would even call me out of curtesy even if nothing was happening, Sarah even managed to sound harsh on the phone after completion, siding with our buyers for us to get out the house before 12 even though cut off was at 1. Will never come back as Sarah lacks any kind of compassion during the most stressful times and not once did we feel supported.

We recently used Samantha Dawkins at Edwarde Harte to facilitate a freehold purchase.
We were working within an extremely tight time schedule and Sam went above and beyond to ensure we didn't miss the deadline.
The process was made tricky by the number of parties involved and the (unforseen) difficulty in locating all the required information.
Sam's extensive knowledge about property law and calm, professional manner was very reassuring and the transaction was completed with minimal stress.

A client

I was recently made redundant and Brian Donnan and the team at Edward Harte provided expert guidance throughout the settlement negotiation process. Brian was always available, quickly responded to emails and was a reassuring presence during what could have otherwise been a difficult time. I thoroughly recommend Brian and the Edward Harte team and I would not hesitate to use them again.

I have contacted Brian Donnan at Edward Harte Solicitors for help with the termination of my employment contract and I was absolutely pleased with his advice and guidance and the way he handled my case. I cannot recommend him enough. It has been a very difficult time for me and my family and it has meant so much having the support of a highly experienced professional I could fully trust to do the right thing for me.

A close friend paid this firm £2,000 for a scrappy 3-page Will which is the worst-written another Solicitor had ever seen, was signed by staff members, not independent witnesses, and now risks splitting his estate with a default public school 'beneficiary' whose school he never even went to, just attended a few dinners there as an adult guest! In fact he had never even mentioned this secondary 'beneficiary' to any of us before or in his other paperwork and to do so would involve splitting his estate - the very thing he was adamant he did not want to happen!
He trusted them while vulnerable and facing a life or death operation.
This company has so much to answer for.

Absolutely delighted with Edward Harte and particularly Sam Dawkins - I have been working with and guided by Sam Dawkins on a complex property issue for 3 years - it has been very involved and distressing and throughout Sam has been absolutely brilliant - expert plan of action and a wonderful manner. Unflappable!! She made an awful situation bearable and achieved a stunning outcome for me - I will be forever in her debt. And her assistant also called Sam is a total star as well - what a team. No hesitation in recommending!
