I sold a house and purchased a house at the same time. It was a white knuckle ride, especially as I had no idea of what the process was and my purchaser had not signed or even read any documents which we discovered when we went to exchange contracts. My part of the required documentation had been issued, explained to me, signed and checked and was ready to proceed very early in the process. It became really exciting at the end when my purchaser, who had by then signed the relevant documents, suddenly declared that their bridging loan was about to expire and that gave us a week to complete. We finally did complete at one minute to five on the very last day that the bridging loan was to be available. Machins were really determined to complete despite the tight timescale. At one point there were at least three Machin's staff tying up loose ends and keeping me informed on the status of the completion. The estate agent dealing with the property I was purchasing delivered the keys to us outside our new property at a quarter past five...... Machins were very patient with me for which I thank them very much and for the effort they put in to make it all happen.
