Definitely recommend

We needed a solicitor to check our auction pack asap. Alan Turner solicitors did it the next day without asking for money on account. They found covenants that made a difference to what we could do with the property and so saved us a fortune! They sent us a detailed report even though this meant we would probably now not need their services. We will be buying a property and we know exactly who will be our solicitor. My daughter is a mortgage advisor and I will be suggesting she send her clients their way!

Uncommunicative,

I had the feeling of being kept in the dark throughout the whole process of the sale of my house. Important emails were not responded to, it was very difficult to get Alan on the phone and messages left with the secretary were not responded to either. Contact was never initiated by Alan. We were forced to resolve certain issues that arose with the seller through the estate agent, rather than through Alan, as he wouldn't reply to correspondence. As a result, the process was made much more stressful than it might have been.

Called to speak to a solicitor about a commercial lease!

I called to speak to a solicitor about a commercial lease and was told nobody available. I expected the lady on the phone to take my details and have someone call me back but instead said 'OK bye'.
Clearly doesn't want my business!
Poor customer service!

A very well priced expert

We have bought both a house and a flat and sold a property through Alan and we found each process, in spite of a number of challenging complexities around TPOs, site access and a listed building issue to be smooth and professional. Alan was expedient and professional and set realistic timelines in each case.

We have bought and sold a number of properties and have used a number of different solicitors in the past, but going forward we will only be using Alan. You only get a professional qualified solicitor with Alan and co, whereas in previous purchases we’ve only managed to speak to an unqualified admin person which was incredibly frustrating. Alan is courteous and an expert, well worth working with as you always get the right answer first time.

Thank you Alan for all your help.

Very uncommunicative, slow and curt

Had a run of the mill conveyance job for him for a flat to purchase.
The process lasted almost over four months, which is not the worst timeline for conveyance as I understand it.
But throughout the process, he never once initiated any kind of conversation with me. I had to constantly email him, call him, and go to the office in person. Not because I was being overbearing but because I had to constantly prod and beg him to get the paperwork through.
Timelines he had set up and reset again where not met causing me to have to search and pay for supplemental housing in the meantime.
When on the phone or visiting in person, he was incredibly hurried and abrupt. I realize he is a busy man and conveyance is basically formalities and forms but it was my first purchase and I had no idea what was going on.
He never bothered to explain things, or detail the process, and when asked he came across blunt and trying to get me out the door as fast as possible.
He was infuriating to deal with and made the process more difficult and unclear than it needed to be.
