Michael is awesome!

Moving house is never an easy thing to do but Michael and his team made it seem easy. Great communication. Explained every step really well. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Excellent - Go The Extra Mile

Michael helped with the purchase of our house & was brilliant. He was always available to answer emails very efficiently. He found a potential nightmare in the first house we were going for & helped us to get out of that. Then even managed to sell on the searches that had been done on that property & the fee received for those was knocked off our final bill. As my review says he went the extra mile.
Very efficient on the house we did complete on & all in all an excellent very quick service. Highly recommended.

Unhelpful at best

Spoke to Finn Gledhill as I had been referred to them as being open and able to assist in the completion of an ID1 Form, a relatively straight forward task. Called every day, most days the phone was ignored. On the days that it was answered I spoke with a really unhelpful woman.

Taking into account that we are in lockdown, I was asked to travel into the office to provide a completed form, for the solicitor to then sign it off. I asked if the form could be printed by the solicitor, which was a no. I asked if the appointment would be at 5pm as myself and partner worked and needed to travel 45 mins to get to the office, which was a no. I asked if the form could be completed remotely via Skype or Zoom (as this is been legally approved due to lockdown) and that also was a no.

When I asked if they would do anything to be helpful I was literally laughed at and she put the phone down.

I wouldn’t trust a company to deal with legal matter who behave in this way. Avoid - there are many more firms in Halifax who offer a professional service.

Amazing

Michael helped me with my house purchase and was so helpful. He went over and above to make sure the purchase could complete and always responded to emails promptly. I was being bought out of a property which should have been a straight forward procedure but unfortunately my ex partners solicitor wasn’t very good and caused a few obstacles. Michael did everything he could to resolve it and still managed to ensure completion on time. Can’t recommend him enough! Thank you for everything!

Home Purchase

Finn Gledhill helped me and my partner purchase our first ever house and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I dealt directly with Mick who was knowledgeable and responsive to any/all enquiries I had. He extremely professional whilst being very approachable and ensured that everything completed on time, he also kept us fully informed of all the things we needed to be aware of. When our purchase was moved forward (and despite us panicking a little as we were aiming to use our lifetime is as) this never felt like too much trouble Mick just made us aware of the information he needed and by what date and everything progressed seamlessly.

Whilst the process was daunting and stressful I genuinely believe without Finn Gledhill it would’ve been 10x worse.

Thank you Mick and Finn Gledhill

Appalling service - huge unneccessary delays.

If I could give them one star I would, We have been trying to sell our house for the last 12 months, currently with the third buyer as the last two sales fell apart around completion. As conveyancing is largely an administrative business there is very little for them to actually have done on this but they have managed to delay responding to emails (there is no point in phoning as there is no-one available or answering the phone, you may get through to Halifax but they can't do anything if your case is being dealt with in Hebden Bridge!). Currently our sale and our buyers purchase is being handled by different offices and they have managed to take over four months to handle a straight forward sale with no chains involved, no surveys and no negotiation. On top of this they have not provided me with any information about why this delay has occurred despite repeated enquiries.

Great fast, informative service

In my case, I am moving to Australia and the house sale completion had to be completed much faster than the average sale. Marc and the team were extremely helpful, informative and got the sale through very fast. Would definitely recommend.

Awful Service

After being recommended to Finn Gledhill to assist with a contact order, I contacted and told that the solicitor was away and would be able to assist with query. I was emailed to say that the solicitor was busy and wouldn't be taking on new clients until her return from holiday.

I waited for her return and contact the branch again by email (no response), I then rang the branch and was told they would not be able to see me for a further 5 weeks,. When I challenged the receptionist about the emailing asking me if I could wait, I was told I should have made an appointment then. Totally unprofessional.

I contacted Makin Dixon who agreed to help me immediately.
