I was a residuary beneficiary on a very simple estate with one property, some savings and a couple of pensions. They took over 2 years to administer the probate and charged nearly £20,000. I was absolutely astonished and when I queried the charges I received a nonsensical answer. They also allowed the executor to claim in excess of £12000 personal expenses for travelling to the property in Bristol from London. There is something completely shady about the way they operate.
