House purchase - twice.

I used D&G a second time to purchase a house as they initially started out well with my first house purchase, this time I got Nicky Marsh, she never did a thing for a whole month, then I got an email from her stating she was no longer going to be handling my case for the purchase of a second house. No explanation, nothing very arrogant and rude, I believe she either didn't know how or couldn't be bothered to do the proof of funds for anti-money laundering both unprofessional reasons. Marsh never contacted me once ! Only her assistant, so she wasted a whole month, I nearly lost the purchase because of Nicky Marsh. I found a professional solicitors in London (Spence West) they cost more but they completed the anti-money laundering within 7 days and completed the whole house purchase transaction within 1 month !!, far better experience.
I can only state my experience others may have a better experience but looking at the ratings of D&G seems a lot have had their time wasted as I had.
I purchased a house in 2021 through D&G, all went well and I was initially satisfied Paul Sams handled the conveyancing etc. However D&G never completed the land registry (conveyancing 101), I found out 3 years later when I need the land registry docs, I won't go into detail but D&G were lazy just sent emails clearly they don't know how to use phones, I ended up having to chase a document they needed which took 1 phone call, I found that unprofessional.

Beware: Overcharging and Deceptive Billing Practices

This firm engages in questionable billing practices. Expect significant overcharges for routine legal work, with inflated hourly claims that far exceed industry norms. They will bill you for multiple solicitors, deceptively listing 'multi-graded' involvement on even the simplest cases. Steer clear of this firm to protect yourself from exorbitant and unjustified fees. Choose another legal representative – your bank balance will thank you.

Unbelievable bad service. Wouldn't explain why they felt they couldn't help me after sitting with Catherine for over an hour and she was more than happy at the time. Wouldn't recommend this firm at all thoroughly appalled by uncaring behaviour

Great conveyancing experience

Lucinda worked for us on our sale and our purchase. She was very human, she had a sense of humor, and was very calm, kind and understanding whilst being professional. She explained what we needed to know at each stage and listened to what we wanted.

Having a larger firm was brilliant as I knew that someone would be available to us if we needed them. But as they are not too far away, I was still able to pop in with documents when I needed to. When I called in a panic as Lucinda was not around, her colleague had already dealt with the issue! I also loved the app which explained the stages of the sale and purchase, as it meant I didn't need to ask all the time what the next steps were.

I would recommend Dutton Gregory for conveyancing to anyone, and especially Lucinda!

Rude & did no conveyancing for an entire month

Terrible conveyancing service. Did no work for an entire month but did not advise that nothing was being done. Nicky Marsh was rude &, when I complained, she personally attacked me. We did write a formal complaint to her manager but simply got a long-winded reply directly from Nicky which did not address why no work had been done. They will not carry out any conveyancing until source of funds are approved but they do not advise of this. I would highly recommend people do not use their conveyancing services.

very poor service on conveyancing

Hired for the sale of my parent house and purchase of a new property. Very poor communication, needed constant chasing, inaccurate documentation, lack of attention to detail, unresponsive and defensive when feedback was shared.
I have bought and sold property many times in different countries including the UK and without doubt the conveyancing from DG in Chandlers Ford was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced.
I provided some feedback to their Managing Partner which he did not respond to until after I chased him up and then he delgated that to another Partner who was completely dismissive. The worst firm!

Worst solicitors in Hampshire

We used Nicky for our conveyancing and I might as well have just burned a pile of money. She's rude and impossible to get hold of and unbelievably slow. We've actually ended up losing our buyer because she thought it was acceptable to just put our sale to the bottom of the list. After months of chasing we ended up making a formal complaints just for her to dismiss our concerns and act like.she.was doing the best she could.

Avoid these charlatans at all costs!?!

Terrible experience just trying to get a quote

Rude receptionist. They wanted my address before they would give me any quote and then they said the only person available to quote me will call me back at 'some point' The receptionist laughed at me too as I didnt know the address of the property I am buying as it is a new build. Avoid.
