Smooth property purchase
I used Ema Jones and her assistant Gill for a property purchase. They were very approachable and helpful. They always responded quickly to phone calls and emails, and gave detailed explanations of any issues. They were thorough and the purchase was completed in good time.

Clare Kirby way below par for a practicing solicitor
Clare Kirby at Peacock & Co is the most incompetent solicitor I have ever had the misfortune to come across. She persistently makes errors and does not give any legal advice or meetings at times when it is needed and often pursues her own poor judgement instead. She cannot cope with performing basic administrative tasks even when documents are presented to her in complete order nor can she complete forms for court correctly which puts the client at risk. Her complete lack of competence and unprofessional attitude contributes to her failure to provide a lack of duty of care towards her client and extremely below par standards for a practicing solicitor.

I consulted Elizabeth Maurice, who is a Senior Solicitor at Peacock and Co., about making a new Will and I am really glad that I did so. Not only was I incredibly grateful for all the excellent legal advice that she provided me with and her prompt response to my questions, but I also really warmed to her as someone who possesses the qualitities of kindness and integrity. I am only too aware of how vulnerable most people feel when they lose a loved one, so for me personally, it was important to find someone that I felt comfortable with. Elizabeth Maurice certainly falls into this category, as well as being meticulous in her approach to drawing up a Will. I would definitely recommend her to my friends.

Excellent service for overseas sellers of UK property
Having moved to Switzerland, we initially instructed Peacock & Co. in connection with the sale of our UK property in August 2023. The pre-contract legal work was dealt with very quickly but we did not secure a buyer until June 2024. Ema Jones, assisted by Gillian Towns, then had some hard negotiating to get the matter to exchange in August, with completion at the end of October. We were very pleased with their tenacity and their clear advice.
