If I could give zero stars - I would. I’m not deliberately trying to be unfair and spiteful but if my experience can deter anyone else from going through what we did - then that’s a good thing. I was chasing weekly and being reassured that everything was done and up to date, I found out through m6 buyer that there was something outstanding - when I challenged the solicitors on 22 / 23 November (bearing in mind we were all hoping to be in by Christmas), I discovered the file for the house we were purchasing had been left for over a month with no one casting an eye over it - I know this because I know our sellers completed it and took to their solicitors by hand 16 Oct and had receipt confirmed by charltons - when I complained this was forwarded to me. It was ME who read through it and discovered a declaration of historic Japanese knotweed, the seller intending to remove all light fittings and fitted wardrobes and the seller expecting payment for remaining gas in the tank. Stay well away
I will note - after I’d complained the solicitor finally got on with it.
