Professional service

I contacted Harrowells following the sudden death of my husband. From the first phone call the firm were professional yet approachable. They guided me through each step, explained things in a humane way and were highly responsive to any queries I had. I felt that I was getting a personal service throughout the process and that they took the time to understand my story. Richard and his team are well aware of the trauma clients go through, his experience led me through to a successful claim. I will always be grateful to Harrowells, they made a very difficult process a lot easier to go through. Thank you.

Do not use.

I strongly advise against using Harrowells medical negligence team under any circumstances. I unfortunately became trapped in what can only be described as a web of cowardly behaviour. A cowardley person within that team showed a shocking lack of empathy and a blatant willingness to throw me a victim of severe medical negligence, to the wolfs. Their actions were utterly appalling and callous. I am actively working to expose the abhorrent practices of UK medical negligence firms via passing details to a TV documenty. To anyone considering using this firm's medical negligence team, my firm advice is to avoid them at all costs.

Really arrogant and made mistakes

We used harrowells to purchase a flat some time ago but they made a mistake with the lease. We then sold the flat ( the purchaser used them too) and it cost us a fortune to rectify their original mistake. They were not prepared to engage with us,, as the legal time for claiming compensation had expired. In fact they said they would not even consider the complaint. Avoid as they have no scruples

Highly recommended

We were recommended to Harrowells by our agent and for good reason, they were very efficient. The property we were buying was subject to probate and and we needed a very experienced firm of solicitors. Nicole Dawson did a sterling job navigating a challenging house move with aplomb.
We would highly recommend their services and endorse Nicole and her team.

Highly Recommend

We went through our first house purchase with Nicole and it went as smoothly as we think possible.

She kept us fully in the loop and was more than happy to discuss matters, both via email and over the phone.

When it came to documentation and contact with the other party all was done effectively and in a timely manner. With then information communicated back to us in a concise and understandable way.

Would very much recommend.

Excellent service

The service provided was excellent, with prompt and helpful advice and guidance given throughout the sale. Our sale was somewhat protracted, but the good humour and willingness to act proactively in the hope of a swift resolve was greatly appreciated. No hesitation in using again should the need arise.

Neighbour dispute regarding overhanging gutters, soffits and fascia

In 2020 our neighbour threatened to remove guttering, soffits and fascia from one side of our home which overhang into his air space. The conveyancing solicitor was found to have been lacking attentiveness to the information provided on the Property Information form by the previous owner regarding disputes. Their insurers have accepted that there was negligence. Harrowells Ltd were engaged to act on our behalf in this matter to try to resolve the issue legally, including the offer of a payment and legal costs to the neighbour, who declined them. However, a claim for damages for negligence by the conveyancing solicitor has been successful. This, over a period of four years.

Support in litigation

We engaged Harrowells to assist us with a complex dispute with a customer. We found their expertise and clear communication immediately re-assuring and at all steps of the process Harrowells were proactive in managing all parties and giving us clear advice. Whilst a number of the legal issues involved were complicated, they were always explained to us in plain English with options and associated risks presented. Ultimately we achieved an agreed resolution through mediation avoiding a lengthy and costly court process and this would not have been possible without the excellent counsel from Harrowells.
