I agreed to pay £300 up front for advice about a financial dispute. I had a 40 minute meeting with one solicitor. She agreed to send a solicitor's letter to the other party supporting my position for a further £100. I agreed. I then get a letter supporting the other party's position, written by someone I have never met and a bill for £100. The £100 bill was cancelled but it was £300 wasted. I had previously had a good working relationship with Andrew Jacksons but I now won't use them again. I will also think carefully about paying any solicitor up front.
