Tenants in common error

Signed up with these 14 yrs ago I'm a single parent My friend came as guarantor but unknowingly or mistake they signed up as tenants in common Sadlys he's died but his family can take half my house? Any decent solicitor would help to put this right but not these Worked hard a my life this needs sorting mistake or no mistake
