Ben Dawson
Associate Solicitor | Watson Ramsbottom

Highly recommended Ben Dawson, my solicitor who is handling the legal documents for me to purchase my new home in UK. I’m lucky to have Ben to help me settle a deal who is new to UK.

Ben is super responsive, high efficiency, smart and reliable. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you Ben!

House sale and Purchase

I've used WR for the purchase of 2 homes and the sale of 1. Superb, professional and friendly service every time. They respond to emails within minutes and never more than a phone call away to help with any questions small or large. Suzanne, Claudia and Gillian at the Chorley Office - could not thank and praise them enough for their help, guidance and diligent hard work. Would highly recommend

Excellent communication and level of service.

We used Watson Ramsbottom as they were the conveyancing service providers for the estate agents selling our late parents' property. The decision to do so was a wise on. The solicitor assigned to us was efficient, quick to respond to requests for clarification and help and would always communicate with us clearly, calmly, patiently and in a timely fashion. She was in short, excellent.
The legal aspects of a house sale are always a fraught time but for us this was dealt with with a minimum of fuss and we felt well-supported throughout the process.
In terms of our experience with a house sale I can't recommend our specific solicitor from Watson Ramsbottom highly enough.

I do not recommend.

I used this solicitor to sell my house and purchase another house. Hannah Pilkington was the solicitor and Amy was her assistant. It was always Amy that I had to deal with even though Hannah said she was my solicitor and she would be taking care of the case. The house I was going to purchase, I found out through independent research that the row of approximately a dozen trees at least 70 foot tall all had Tree Preservation Orders. This I feel should have been identified within the search as the trees lined the side of the drive of the bungalow. When I contacted Watson and Ramsbottom and said about the TPOs, Hannah said that nothing showed up in the searches!! I explained I did a simple search and identified that they all add TPOs. This should have shown up in the survey and I would not have continued with my purchase. I did tell Hannah this, and she said I still have to pay!! I also have to do my own research on who was responsible for the dry stone wall that extended down the side of the bungalow to the bottom of the garden, the garage and further down. Amy told me that nothing was on the deeds, and she presumed it was my responsibility!! I said this was not good enough and I proceeded to find out for myself. Amy also said that the deeds are gone ‘silent’ so again, she presumed it would be my responsibility!! It later transpired, it was the homeowner at the bottom of the private lane that was responsible for the Drystone wall. I am bitterly disappointed at the service I received and do not feel I should have paid for the purchase of the bungalow that I never proceeded with once I discovered everything myself. Also, I hand delivered all the requested signed legal documents. Amy telephoned me and asked if I would send them again. I explained I had already delivered them by hand and suggested that they find them. I received a phone call a couple of hours later to say that they had been located!!
Absolutely useless!! Avoid!

Highly recommended

I got in touch with Watson Ramsbottom following a recommendation and have been very impressed. Swift, consistent contact and sensitive handling of a difficult personal situation. I have never needed a solicitor before and was very distressed when getting in touch, but I'm now feeling more confident. Would highly recommend if you need dispute or family law support.

Family court support

I had representation and support from the family division of Watson Ramsbottom, mostly from Kayla and Sophia. Both solicitors were very professional and generous with the advice and expertise around a very contentious court experience

Lack of communication and lazy staff. Terrible. Please avoid!

As a cash buyer I was told by Watson and Ramsbottom that my house purchase would be swift. The only thing not told is how lazy their staff were in communication. 4 months later and having the complaints team review the case they responded that my 14 calls initiated 4 callbacks and they found this as acceptable as updates were available on the portal. The portal only ever had one update and is totally rubbish due to the staff not updating it. I will not be using Watson and Ramsbottom again and warn others to think twice before using them.
