Due to painful previous experiences with solicitors in Hull I was sceptical about even moving house again however after our mortgage advisor recommended Brewer Wallace we decided to give it a go. One issue in general in dealing with solicitors is the lack of communication however with Jemma Tonkiss at Brewer Wallace we had no such issues. She constantly updated us on the progress and she really went the extra mile to ensure we got completed in time. I’ve sold a few properties through brewer Wallace over the past few years and every time I use them the service seems to get worse!
I’m currently selling a property and using them as my solicitors (for the last time!) we were meant to complete mid January after I agreed a sale early November. and I’ve had no communication from them whatsoever throughout the sale process and not even a single update unless I’ve called them to ask for one. this is over 2 weeks past the completion date now!
Every time I contact them it feels like I’m being a nuisance from the way I’m spoken to over the phone.
I’ve been fobbed off for weeks now saying they’re waiting for paperwork from the buyers solicitors and they haven’t received any correspondence from them in weeks! Yet they haven’t bothered to try calling the solicitors to chase the issue, even after numerous calls by myself asking if they would call them to get me an update. I’m either told to just wait and I “SHOULD” hear something any day now (I’ve been told this for a month! And when they do agree to phone the solicitors and call me back with an update straight away, I have to yet again phone them the next day to be told that they EMAILED them yesterday and are just waiting to hear back!
It’s safe to say I’ll be taking my business elsewhere in future and I’ll be telling my contacts to do the same!
When I pay good money for a solicitor I expect them to do what I pay them for, not micromanage them.
Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere!

Over the past five years, I have sold a number of properties. The majority with varying low degrees of service from a variety of Solicitors.
It made a refreshing change to do business with Brewer Wallace. Especially Leonie Spicer. I was highly impressed with her friendly manner, her Professionalism and keenness to complete the sale with a minimum of fuss. I was kept up to date with the process at all times. She was a pleasure to deal with.
I was not used to such high quality service, so would have no hesitation in recommending her and Brewer Wallace in future.

From start to finish of our property purchase falling in to the hands of Brewer Wallace we have done nothing but chase for updates. For us spending nearly £900 with them at no point have we been called or emailed first, we have always had to make the first contact! Every time we ask for an update or a time frame we get the same kind of fob off emails. At one point we were advised one thing and and then called liers the next time when we tried to stand by that information. Would definitely not recommend and we have already turned two of our friends that are purchasing a house away from them.
