Absolute disgrace

This firm is an absolute disgrace. They singlemindedly failed to defend me from conviction despite having reams of evidence to prove my innocence. They took one month to make further contact, then immediately, and very, very rudely refused to fix their mistake or continue in any way with my very serious problem. They ought to have apologised for their extremely harmful, shoddy service and sought to overturn the conviction in order for me to seek compensation from the complainant and associated authorities. Absolutely appalling.

Ok if you want to do everything yourself!

On having an offer accepted on my first home, I contacted Meikles and other Solicitors for a quote. They seemed to be the most reasonably priced so I agreed to allow them to act on my behalf...how I wish I hadn't!

The amount of mistakes that were made were shameful. A letter I received stated I was borrowing £10 more than I was and that I was paying £500 less than I actually was for my home. The Land Transaction Return I was sent to sign was filled with mistakes, the most concerning being that they had registered me already living in the property I was in the process of buying.

The firm refused to contact the Bank when I had a querying, stating that they had always had problems with Barclays and were unwilling to ring them. I had then had to spend time chasing up queries on both parts.

I was never given any regular updates on my case and I was always having to chase for answers. I also found the tone of some of the staff to be quite rude and I was sometimes made to feel . I explained on several occasions that I was a first time buyer and would possibly have questions which others wouldn't.

On several occasions I was referred to as Mrs, despite me never being married and never showing them any evidence of this. And then the last letter I received had a completely new spelling of my name!

As a Solicitors firm, I was shocked at the amount of mistakes that were made and their lack of customer service. I would not recommend this firm to anyone in the same situation as me.

Top notch

We had to make a very last minute switch to another solicitors for our house sale and purchase following use of another solicitors recommended via MovewithUs. Our original solicitors had their panel status removed via the Halifax so therefore could not act for us for our purchase and this alongside little to no communication throughout the process meant after 3 months of conveyancing we were left at the end of January with not solicitors. Due to COVID and the race to beat the stamp duty deadline, many companies would not touch our file. We were recommended Meikles by a colleague and the gulf in professionalism between them and our original solicitor team was massive. Meikles are a professional outfit, good communication, giving good advice throughout. I would well recommend them for anyone looking to move. Lynne Simpson was in charge of her case but her team including Jean, Caitlyn and Joan (who is superb) dealt with out issue and made our sale and purchase possible. Well recommended and although I hope never to move again, I would use them without hesitation.

Do not use them.

These people failed to help me.. they conspired against me on numerous occasions. They broke the law and coearsed me into admitting false charges...

They committed perjury on many occasions and I would not use them ever again...

They let me be found guilty of false charges and once they got me to admit the lies they stopped representing me....

Job done.

AVOID

I never met the solicitor once I only spoke to him on the phone. I didn't choose this firm, there was a conflict of interest for my solicitor of choice so he passed my case on to Meikles.

Bad customer service

I used this firm when purchasing a property the customer service was appalling and could never get to speak to the solicitor by telephone or in person also when sending emails taking weeks to get a response it took 8 months to finally complete and ended up costing me a lot more than they originally quoted 5 months later I have now been informed that some of my legal documentation has not been transferred over when contacting them they didn’t seem bothered and said they would be in touch if your looking for a solicitor to represent you and good customer service then I advise you not to use this firm

Brilliant !!!
Not a word iv ever used about the legal profession having worked in the past with young offenders and alternative to custody projects .
But , stephen did a great job, calm , concise, informative, professional the list goes on.
The prosecution floundered while stephen ticked the boxes .family, friends and employer supplied the data which stephen was able to prepare his presentation from.
Can not recommend him enough.
My young son is at home because of him.
Thank you stephen
