Mo was great throughout the process of my sale and purchase. He had to take over from a colleague who had left the company and had to catch up with parts of the case to ensure the process went smoothly. He did this brilliantly and was always on the end of the phone or email to let me know what was going on.

I was recommended to use this firm by my estate agent, Chancellors who I presume get a commission from referrals.
This company does not have professional solicitors, they are rude, appear to be lacking in knowledge, will not return emails or calls. When I asked Lauren why Simply Legal had done nothing on my file and why documents I had forwarded were nowhere to be found I was told to ‘watch my tone’. After many many complaints I finally got suryana who was the only professional person there. However after moving into the property I was met with a ton of rubbish and rubble, I emailed her but I never got a response, I’d paid my fees so I was on my own!

We have Just moved into our new home in Oxford, and Mohammed Arfan has dealt with the legal processes for both the sale of our old house and the purchase of the new one. All the stages were dealt with efficiently, with the not unexpected proviso that the English system for buying and selling domestic property involves periods of waiting and of uncertainties. Mohammed has communicated well at all times, has answered questions, and has been quick to respond and to convey information. We are pleased with the way this has been handled.

We were initially introduced to Simply Legal through Lifetime Legal. We were initially told there would be no additional fee and the price quoted was a flat fee. This was not the case. We were also told our case would be handled by Cassie. After a few months into the process, it became clear that Cassie had not done her job and was ultimately replaced by Mohammed. Our initial contact with Mohammed was great and he assured us that he would assist us and get us over the line. He kept us up to date throughout the sale and purchase and was honest and hardworking throughout. To his credit, Mohammed did as described and in my opinion, over delivered. This 5 star review is for Mohammed Arfan ONLY. I do not recommend Simply Legal but I HIGHLY recommend Mohammed.
For you Mohammed, thank you for your hard work and efforts in the past couple of months. You are a credit to this company and deserve all the recognition. I can see by looking at other reviews that others have had a similar experience and you have ultimately provided a superb service to everyone you have come in contact with. I wish you all the best and the next time we look to sell our house, we will be in touch!

Simply Legal were representing my buyer and slowed down the process at every possibly opportunity.
Took 3 weeks to contact my solicitor after we accepted the offer and also delayed exchange with the constant excuses of staff being off sick or on annual leave with no handover to anyone else at all.
They wouldn’t answer the phone to our buyer or estate agent throughout the process and my solicitor even recommended that the buyer should switch to another more competent one.
Steer clear!

The worst experience. Promised to help us finish our buying process in 12-14 weeks and it took almost 6 months. We ended up getting the key from the property 3 days before our mortgage offer expired, and that only after tens of phone calls from my side. Charged us (with no exageration) 50% more than the initial quote. Very bad communications, sometimes taking a full week to answer a simple email. And now, after all that I cannot get hold of them neither by phone or email after requesting a document to be able to register our property for service charge. Awful

An awful experience, I don’t have long enough to list their shortcomings. Terrible communication, emails and phone calls unanswered, delays to a very simple chain. My full time job had to take a back seat to chasing my solicitor and communicating with other parties as no one could get hold of her. The list goes on. My solicitor didn’t even inform me she was going to be away at the time of exchange/completion (not that she had gathered the necessary documents in time for it anyway). After talking to her all week and arranging for documents to be dropped into her on Monday morning, I received an out of office response to an email I sent saying she would be away and did not receive any kind of handover to another member of staff. I had to call the office to see what was happening and if my exchange would be going ahead. We thank our lucky stars that a more experienced member took over as we truly believe we would still be waiting. We were offered a £50 reduction in fees, given our overall experience, we found this to be rather insulting.
I reached out to the director of this company via phone, via email and via our estate agent who had recommended that and he did not reply. In my opinion, any reply below this review will be completely disingenuous.

Currently trying to sell my house and buy a new house with this company on the referral of chancellors estate agent in Chesham. Was advise it would be a smoother process going with them as there practically an in house team. Their service is absolutely appalling. Our assign solicitors refuses to answer the phone. It has taken her months to pass on information. Currently buying an empty house and selling ours to first time buyers, should be relatively easy chain as far as chains go, our agent has made this whole process impossible. we’re now on the verge of everything falling through. If you have to use these lot be warned. If they try to assign Cassie Edward smith as an agent refuse. I have never in my life experienced such a poor service.
